“I'll be back”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 3, 2013

We are an expat family living in Trinidad, exploring the islands. This is not a typical Caribbean Hotel . I have never experienced service like this. Hotel was beautiful, food was delicious, everyone went above and beyond. We will be back.

Holiday of a life time, amazing place.

Food was out of this world, great service from happy friendly staff.

Villas were pefect and the bed was huge.

I cant recommend this resort enough, they made our honeymoon so special.

Room Tip: Plunge pool was a great extra!

We don't normally return to the same hotel, but BB is an exception. This trip we took my parents, I was concerned that it would not be as good as the previous time. I did not need to worry as BB had only got better.

I had read numerous reports about Liat being delayed and losing baggage. I am pleased to say that we did not have any of these issues and the transfers were really smooth. I do not think the hotel could do any more to ease this process. I did however pack essential items in our hand baggage, just in case.

Rooms are of an excellent standard, food was very good and offered enough variety for our 8 nights and drinks were plentiful! It really is the staff that makes the difference here, a number of them remembered us from our previous stays. The service is excellent and we did not want for anything. There are too many to mention, but the pool team, led by Lionel were wonderful and the management team were very visible and hands on.

My parents loved it and are already talking about returning!

Buccament Bay is a good quality resort in the Caribbean but I would not say 5 star.

My reason are:-
Some wear and tear on outdoor furniture and cushions at our villa which I would have expected to be top quality and I found a bit off putting the fact that we were next to uncompleted villas and looking towards the monstrosity of what will be a hotel some stage in the future.

Pool was great but if at capacity then would not accommodate all.

Change of towels was sporadic and never got the same mix each day.

The internal lakes are a draw of mosquitos and unfortunately most villas have wooden doors and shutters so you don't get much natural sunlight unless you leave them open and invite the local insects, frogs and lizards into the villa.

Also Trader Vics is not open as advertised so you have the beach grill which Chef Murphy which is great and could do with some more tables and also I think you should be told about it a bit more as we found after a few days and also the beach bar could do with something near it as a bit on its own near reception.

Try the Sushi and Tempura made fresh by Santa at Ginger and Co Sushi bar which again they should give you the menu for instead you have to ask. Great choice and would be great in a restaurant of it's own rather than at the side the the Bay Bar.

Don't like the fact that at night no choice of drinking venue other than the Bay bar which includes Ginger and Co and an eating area.

Jack's was great, the scallops and bacon fantastic as was the steak but they ran out of fillet mignon, large prawns and rack of ribs which is a bit disappointing.

Saffron was not bad but didn't like the fact it was set amongst people's villas and I am sure they could do much more with the menu.

The thing I hated was the bus like seats where you have two seats at a table sitting side by side - get rid of these please!

The staff were great, friendly, at tentative - special thanks to Lincoln and the pool boys, Santa in the Suchi bar, Naisha, Brentan and Henson at the bar.

Would we go back, no but we never do as the world is too big and too many places to see, Would I recommend it to others, yes even though I've pointed out some negatives, it's still a great place. Especially for us that it wasn't anywhere near capacity which isn't great for the resort.

The bathroom was fab with although could not seem to alter the temperature and had to wait a while for the water to come out of the waterfall type shower head. The bed and pillows were absolutely fantastic and comfortable.

All premium brans drinks which is a must at a 5 start and makes a difference.

Go on the free Sunset cruise as we saw loads of dolphins on a clear night. You may also get to see some pilot whales as we did on our way back from Mustique.

If you want food at your villa, they will make it at the Bay Bar restaurant and you can take is back with you. The same at Chef Murphy's beach grill if you don't want to sit on the beach you can take it back to your villa or by the pool.

HQ does some fab smoothies and ice creams.

The boutique is very limited so make sure you have sun cream and the like.

The downside was LIAT the internal flights as one bag was delayed and then on the way back, no bags as Barbados so left in St Vincent and took ages to get the forms done, got back to Gatwick on the Sunday and eventually got bags back on Wednesday via courier. It's a common occurrence so LIAT are always playing catchup so make sure you take some clothes on the way out although luggage is normally on the next flight.

We did a trip to Mustique and Becqua and the trip out was awful, very bumpy and lots of salt water so beware. It was worth it but left a few people feeling a bit delicate on the way out although it was better on the way back.

Room Tip: If you can have a beach front villa or one in the 1000 range, avoid the Buccament river and the high...

Sitting in the airport waiting to fly back to London after another fantastic week at Buccament Bay.
Everything was still as perfect as on our last few visits.
The villas are incredible. You are surrounded by luxury good quality amenities in the bedroom and bathroom.
The restaurants are superb. Loved Saffron, the boutique indian with the most exquisite dishes, nothing like the indian takeaway at home!
Jacks restaurant is very classy and serves fabulous steaks and sides.
More informal is the Beach Bay for lunches and dinner. Try the sushi at lunchtime especially the tempura shrimp!
Must mention the excellent gym facilities that we both used at 6am daily and the fabulous HQ coffee shop where we ate muffins and macaroons and put all of our hard gym work to waste!!
I think the thing that crowns it all is the staff that are employed there. They all share a passion and a personal pride of the resort and want so much for you to have that "special experience" there.
I have to thank the following staff for being absolutely outstanding... Kirit and Shauna (front office) Brod and Chanelle (breakfast and Bay lunch), our wonderful maids for villa 2004, Creese and Carlisle (our drivers to and from the airpirt) and all the HQ staff for making the perfect Earl Grey tea!
We are already planning our next trip.
Sadly the one downside is the flight from Barbados to Saint Vincent. There were terrible delays (as is quite normal apparantly) and our luggage didnt arrive at the resort untill the next day.
Thanks again everyone for making it another perfect week in paradise. X

My family and I have traveled all over the world and we've truly never experienced the magic and excellence of Buccament Bay.From being greeted at Barbados for the transfer to St Vincent to arriving back at Barbados after the transfer from St Vincent the staff couldn't do enough for us.When we arrived at the resort we were greeted with a cooling towelette and an ice cold cocktail. We were then ushered to our room where we were shown around by our representative. The setting is amazing as the resort is in a secluded bay which is very picturesque and tranquil. When we came back to shore after the complimentary sunset cruise the resort was lit up and it looked stunning. The food is fantastic and expertly prepared by the chefs and nothing is too much trouble, there is also a huge variety of premium drinks, wines and cocktails as part of the all inclusive package. If i was to put into detail everything that is great about this resort there wouldn't be enough room to write it but the accommodation, facilities and location are something you have to experience but what really makes this resort so special are the staff, from the managers to the maids, waiters and chefs who are all so friendly, helpful and attentive to your needs our family were made to feel special and there's even better to come as the resort is still developing with more facilities and new restaurants soon to be completed. The only negative point to offer was the Liat transfer from Barbados as they didn't deliver our luggage which is apparently not uncommon but it was delivered the next morning which the resort sorted out for us.So the tip is to put some toothpaste and a swimming costume in your hand luggage just in case it happens to you.

Room Tip: all rooms are easily accessible as the resort is built in a loop but if you want the sea view beach...

We stayed at Buccament Bay between 11th and 18th May and thought it was fantastic. The staff were very friendly and we were very spoiled. Although it was quiet this suited us as we prefer a quieter resort. We had a deluxe villa which had a plunge pool, decking with rattan seats and our own 'private beach' with sunbeds. We took the benefit of this as my husband burnt his feet in Barbados a few days prior to coming to Buccament Bay and was unable to walk far. The restaurants served excellent food with breakfast in the Bamboo Restaurant having everything you could ask for. I had one-to-one sessions of Hatha Yoga with Dr Ashraf Ali which I enjoyed; thank you. Ivy (our chambermaid) gave us daily classes on how to turn our towels into animals. What a lovely lady! Other staff who made our stay a pleasure was Ishen, Brod, Venice and Guido, to name a few. The staff we had conversations with remembered our names which made us feel important. As mentioned in previous reviews that future plans to increase the size of the resort would in our opinion spoil the present ambiance. A wonderful holiday.
