A rip off for a run down hotel with the worst services and outdated rooms

The rooms and fixtures are outdated. The "Luxury Floor" is just a depressing row of very old rooms with old and yellowish fixtures. The restaurant and bar close at seven. Even though, when they are open the selection of meals is mediocre and short. No laundry service, a small old pool. A total rip off for $160 a night plus all the added charges, taxes, fees and electric bill charges. STAY AWAY!

The view was nice however....everything after that was horrible. The front desk was useless of providing information about the hotel, the city, and car rentals. If your are crazy like me and decide to rent a car do not use Bens Car Rental. You are going to need car insurance I had 4 drunk locals hit my car and broke my side mirror. Get insurance. The hotel managers are some of the rudest people I have ever meet. They should not be in a service industry if you are that mad. Rude is an understatement about management. Like the other traveler who went to the Mariner Hotel down the street has better quality food and rooms at a cheaper price. I would skip this hotel all together. Not worth the 160.00 plus to many other fees to list.

  • Liked — The view and the bartenders where very informative.

Unfortunately, I would have to disagree with the honeymoon couple. I found that the hotel lacked charm, the rooms were large and clean, but reminded me more of a hospital than a caribbean get away. I stayed in a delux room which had a patio overlooking the sea, this was a great view. Upon check in I found the service to be inadequate. That night the dinner was one hour before we were served and when we asked for coffee at the end of our meal, we were told we would have to take it elsewhere as it was past 9pm and they needed to set the tables for breakfast. The next morning I asked to have a bottle of water delivered to my room. The water was $8 and the delivery was $5, more than 50% service tax. The food at the inside restaurant reminded me of KFC popcorn chicken. 8 of us ate and all of us were disappointed. The outdoor grill apparently is much nicer. When staying in St Vincent I would highly recommend visitors stay at the Mariner's Inn where the food and service are both five star. The view at teh Mariner's is also very nice. It is on the water and looks out to Young Island.

My wife and I had our honeymoon at Grand View Beach hotel for one week of a two week Caribbean trip. We greatly enjoyed our stay. Our room was clean and like new, the balcony view of the water and islands was amazing, the staff was extremely friendly, and the food at both restaurants was outstanding (we really enjoyed the small outdoor restaurant on the water). The hotel is not in the city, so the evenings are quiet, the air clean, and the stars really light up the night sky.
The hotel is not too secluded either, so it's easy to take a taxi to anywhere on the island, or a water boat for a trip along the island shores. The boat tours will pick you up right on the beach. The hotel is located on top of a cliff with a brilliant view of Bequia and the other islands. The relatively low cost of our stay allowed us to greatly enjoy water cruises, airplane island hopping and many other trips. The only drawback was that the beach was not among the best. But we didn't mind because it's easy to get to the better beaches. We would definitely return and wish to do so in the future.
