Wallilabou Bay is an excellent anchorage/mooring. This is where both Pirates of the Caribbean movies (Revenge of the Black Pearl & Dead Man's Chest) were filmed. The Bay was closed to the public the week after we moored there as filming for the second movie was scheduled to begin. There is a line of mooring buoys on starboard as you enter the bay. A stern line is neccesary, so have about 150 feet of line ready. Boatboys will assist with your stern line, the help will cost you $10 EC.. I would suggest taking a tender over and giving the line a check afterwards. Mooring is directly in front of the Wallilabou Anchorage Hotel/Restaurant (as seen in the movie), and a black sand beach. At the bay enterance on the north is a beautiful natural stone arch (as seen in the movie).. excellent snorkling. Also, the 'Piton' showed in the movie at the bay enterance is movie magic.. it does not exist. All in all, once the 'boat vendors' leave you alone (politely refuse if you don't want to be inudated), Wallilabou is a very cozy, relaxing port, with excellent amenities.
