“Oasis - Great Escape from the Resort”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 16, 2012

Just got back from Nevis, and I remembered to write a review for Oasis because I promised the waitress I would. This Thai restaurant is a great spot for some good Asian food. Between the American & Carribean food we had been eating at the Four Seasons, we felt Oasis was worth the trip to get there.

The service was great, attentive and not overbearing. My friend was recovering from being sick and they intentionally made her soup extra mild and put all the seasoning on the side for her in decorative dishes so that she can add it to her liking. They were very accommodating when we all ordered. The Thai food is great for Nevis, not the best I've ever had in my life, but def better than expected considering I was on a remote island.

We didn't take a walk around the gardens. It's $13 to get in and going to the restaurant doesn't bypass that, but you do get to walk through and see a little bit of it. The restaurant isn't cheap, but the portions are definitely fair. There were 4 of us and we spent about $120 USD. Far and above less expensive than the resorts, but more than some local places. Overall, between the Pad Thai, Pad See Ew, and the soup, all of us thoroughly enjoyed what we ate. Fully recommend this restaurant. It was a nice break from what we've been eating and was great. Nice service and fresh good food works for me anytime. Enjoy!

“Hard to beat this Oasis”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 3, 2012

My family visited the gardens and they were beautiful, quite unexpected for this small island. Even my grandchildren enjoyed the place. We had lunch here and you must start with the lemonade, best taste ever. The lemongrass made it. Thai food well done. We have eaten Thai food around the world, and this rates well. Very relaxing and wish we could have stayed a lot longer. The kids enjoyed their food on the veranda with cool breezes and excellent views of the island.

“Food is Delicious -- If they Have Any”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 30, 2012

I've been to the Oasis in the Garden twice now, both times for lunch, in 2011 and 2012, and have enjoyed the Thai food enormously. But one must be flexible about what you'd like to order.
-- In 2011, the restaurant had recently opened and fully a third of the items were unavailable to order ("we're waiting for the spices to arrive from Thailand" we were told.)
-- in 2012, they were out of chicken and salads. At a Thai restaurant, this is serious. And they were out of beer. ("Had a cruise ship come in yesterday and the people drank all our beer.")

Otherwise, you can't beat the atmosphere and the setting in the midst of the gardens, which is unique and sublime. And the Thai cuisine was excellent, though a bit on the pricey side.

A beer would have been nice, though. :)

“Left a bad taste in my mouth...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 11, 2012

First thing - beautiful scenery, I'm not sure if you can get much better than that. But after that, it was a downhill slope. The food..horrible and bland. The price..horrible and expensive. Definitely not recommending this restaurant any time soon unless you would like to walk around in the gardens, which is breathtaking, and that is it!

“Every night is magical”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 21, 2012

We ate here every night as part of a dinner pkg deal with our stay at Montpelier, food is outstanding and the staff is very warm and friendly. Views are amazing, come before sunset and stroll the grounds before dinner.
