“Nevisian Hospitality at It's Best”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 9, 2012

While vacationing in Nevis, we were told by many not to miss the Thursday night Beach BBQ at Nisbet Plantation--they were right. Beginning with wine, Rum Punch, and horsd' oeuvres on the patio of the beach bar mingling with other guests you are treated to an evening of Nevisian hospitality and cuisine. Dinner buffet style at Coconuts Restaurant adjacent to the pool; many lovely salad offerings (sauted mushrooms, beets, local tomatoes & cucumbers) are a light and refreshing start to your meal. There are several grilled fist and seafood options along with local salsa and mango sauce, as well as Nevisian hot sauce made from locally grown Scotch Bonnet pepper, hot but delicious. The desert options are the best to be had with so many to choose from you may have a had time deciding: fruits and cheeses, chocolate torte, cheese cakes, pies, bread pudding, etc. All this is followed by caribbean music from a live band and dancing under the stars. Make sure you make a reservation in advance, seating is limited.

“The Great House is great”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 6, 2012

I love everything about Nisbet Plantation Beach Club, including the historic Great House (1778) where dinner is served and live music is provided several times during the week. Also don't miss lunch at the Sea Breeze Beach Bar at Nisbet.

“Excellent meal”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 29, 2012

My wife and I enjoyed an excellent meal here. It is a price fixed menu with 3-4 choices for each course. We started with a pumpkin fritter that was tasty. Next we choose the scallops as the appetizer and enjoyed them. I decided on the fish as my main course while she selected chicken. Both were very good. Desert was almost not needed as we were full but alas we went for it. Along with a reasonable bottle of wine we were pleased with the total dinner. Eating in the historic Great House added to the experience.

“Great place to have a special celebration”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 9, 2011

The Great House at Nisbet Plantation is full of historical interest - and a culinary delight too. Service is outstanding. From the moment we arrived we felt we had personal attention from the delightful lady who served us (nothing was too much trouble) to the hands-on management of the dining room by the maitre d'. Well worth a visit

“Great restaurant with some Unique Options”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 20, 2011

Great House Restaurant

The Menu changes every night. The blend of ingredients was a welcome surprise. Some examples include Jerk Spice Spring Roll and chicken tenders in curry sauce with fettuccini, spiney lobster, duck breast is sweet and sour sauce, beef carpaccio with chopped avaocados, grilled Mahi mahi in a cream sauce. We found the different salads each night to be very refreshing after a day in the sun. We had some great meals, never a bad experience. The service is good (Rosalyn was a great waitress). Patterson the Maitre D was a people pleaser and great at his job. Dan one of the bartenders who is also a lobsterman knows his stuff. Reservations are recommended if not staying at Nisbet Plantation. No reservations are needed at the Great House restaurant if staying at Nisbet Plantation.

There is a dress code for dinners at the Great House. This is on the website. Men must wear closed toe shoes, and collared shirts. Pants or nice dressy shorts are required. We saw various men in khaki shorts at dinner.

Every Thursday evening there is a barbecue on the beach & at Coconuts (at the Great House if raining). The meal is buffet style with options like macaroni and cheese, bean salad, mushroom salad, corn on the cob, pasta salad, cucumber salad, rice and beans, and items form the grill such as steak, shrimp, Wahoo, tuna, salmon, snapper, mussels. Multiple deserts are also offered such as strawberry layer cake, chocolate pecan pie, chocolate cake, pear apple came, and cheeses with crackers. A live band plays and dancing is encouraged.
