We visited St.Kitts on August 20th as one of our many stops while travelling on Carnival Valor. We were greeted by a friendly and hospitable taxi driver by the name "Leroy Procope" as soon as we got off the vessel. we had so many excursions to chose from we chose that of "Explore St.Kitts" (which was arranged through Clay Villa). Leroy is a very educated driver and knows the history of his country to a great degree. When our tour commenced we were shown many different historical sites and also given the history of these sites. On this excursion our first stop was Clay Villa Plantation. Our tour was done by Bridget, who is one of the owners of the plantation. This is one of the most beautiful plantations that i have ever seen. There are many different types of animals which includes monkeys, birds and fishes but most of all the family dogs that greet when you arrive. There are many different types of fruit trees which include but are not limited to mango, five finger(star apple) and banana. After the tour we were taken down stairs to a private pub for their special drink called Rum Punch. It was so refreshing and I wish i could take it back with me but i just took enough to last for the tour. there were other stops which included a visit to Timothy Hill and this is a beautiful sight and the reason for saying this is because you can see where both the Caribbean Sea and Atlantic Ocean met. Our final destination was that of the Friars Beach were we enjoyed swimming and another local surprise are the monkeys. The monkeys would greet you by drinking your rum and dancing for you. I would recommend this location of Clay Villa to anyone and this to us is our #1 vacation destination location
