“Comfortable but dated”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 30, 2013

The OTI is an older, but now, "botique" hotel, on St. Kitts. Its very handy to the airport and downtown and cruiseship terminal. Efforts are underway to update the rooms and facilties. It has lovely grounds, two swimming pools and good restaurant (Waterfalls). It is also associated with "Fishermans Wharf", across and down the street, which has been recently updated. Many steps and stairs so not great for anyone with mobility issues. Cheers, Richard.

We stayed at the OTI 3 - 10 December and had a brilliant time. If you want 5* luxury this isn't for you, but if you want a lovely traditional caribbean hotel with delightful people who can't do enough to make your holiday special, and a superb location, then don't hesitate! The views from the rooms are spectacular - pelicans and frigates kept us entertained for hours!
We will certainly return.

This is a charming hotel with rooms and suites built into the side of the hills in Basseterre. For that reason, there are many steps connecting all the outlying buildings. If walking is a problem for you...you may want to look for more conventional lodging.

Nevertheless, the views are spectacular from nearly every bungalow or room. The rooms are quite spacious and well appointed, with large comfortable beds, a supersize bathroom (with dual sinks!), a refrigerator, ironing board, wall safe, etc; and quite clean.

Added features are two swimming pools, room service (fairly priced), and several dining choices. We ate poolside at the 'burger bar' and the food was quite good, reasonably priced and served quickly and courteously....a winner!

The hotel staff is efficient and friendly and the front desk is open 24/7 I'd stay here again and it was definitely an improvement over my last hotel in St. Kitts.

The rooms were pretty basic, but everything worked and the location is wonderful. Just about what I am after for a business trip. The view from my room was stunning with squadrons of pelicans diving for fish, frigate birds floating past and lizards all over the lawn. The resort itself is set out almost like a small village which reduces the uniformity pleasantly.

My wife and I had a great time while in St. Kitts at the Ocean Terrace Inn. The staff was very accommodating and very friendly! We will definitely be returning to the island sometime soon and booking our stay with Gail and the rest of great people of the Ocean Terrace Inn.

We stayed here for a week in September. We had room 22 and as others have said the hotel is upgrading in stages. Our room was comfortable and had a great view to Basseterre and to Nevis in the other direction. We had breakfast each morning and ate in the restaurant in the evenings. The hotel is on various levels so would not be suitable for those who find steps difficult. It is a short walk into town or the local buses stop at the end of the road by the war memorial. We used the buses to get around and found drivers very helpful. The gardens of the hotel are beautifully kept and I think the main asset is the staff who all went out of their way to ensure we had an enjoyable stay. I would certainly recommend staying at OTI

Our stay at the Ocean Terrace Inn was just a layover on our way to a diving vacation but we found this hotel to be extraordinary. We had a terribly long day of travel and arrived in St. Kitts late at night. Our cab driver, Percy did a very good job as tour guide and got us to our hotel with no trouble. Percy was obviously proud of his island. The check-in went quickly and efficiently. The room was a little tired (water marks and mildew in a corner of the ceiling) but otherwise very good compared to many. The bed was clean and comfortable. We slept very well.

We had breakfast in their restaurant in the morning; it was great! Nice views, ocean breezes, and we had the place nearly to ourselves. This was the very height of the low season. It may be "hurricane season" but when there are no storms (which is usually the case) the weather is beautiful.

We had most of the day to kill and we spent it by one of the pools. The landscaping is incredible,
There is a swim-up bar and the staff made our drinks just the way we like them.

One extra touch that I had never experienced before was a card with a rather long, handwritten note thanking me for choosing the Ocean Terrace Inn. It was from the Guest Services Manager and made me feel special.

We didn't really want to leave, but Percy returned to make sure that we weren't late to meet our boat.

Room Tip: There are a lot of stairs on the property. That didn't matter to us, but it may to you. If you...
