“Cockelshell Beach”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 31, 2014

Had to order a meal or a drink to use any of the beach chairs. Beside the expensive taxi ride the food was good and the beer refreshing. Nothing great to see snorkeling

“Very quiet at end of season”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 30, 2014

Good location but almost deserted end of March. Restaurant closed early and looked very much out of season.

“A great place to relax and be taken care of.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 29, 2014

We came here on a day stop from the cruise ship. It was not OVER crowded but there were a fair amount of people there. We got there early and got a set of chairs and an umbrella. The drinks from the Regae Grill were good and so was the food. Our friend did get a massage and said it was great. There was a fair amount of water sports that you could participate in and there was also some OK snorkeling that you could do. The water was clear, warm and calm. In all I would come back for the day to hang out and relax. Our cab ride was $8 each way and we paid the driver on the return trip. It worked out very well.

“Best beach on St. Kitts”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 25, 2014

We spent a day on St. Kitts as part of our cruise. Having stayed on St. Kitts for 2 weeks years ago we felt very comfortable setting up our own beach day.
We picked up the taxi downtown (avoided the aggressive ones at the port). The cost was $28 each way for our family of 4. It took about 25 minutes each way, but was well worth the extra travel time.
We rented beach loungers and placed them under some trees near the restaurant/bar. We also rented some snorkeling gear (forgot ours on the ship!) all of which was quite reasonable. We had a bucket of the local beer (Carib) and bought some conch fritters and lobster sandwiches for lunch. The food was EXCELLENT!
There was music playing (Saturday during spring break) but it wasn't too loud. The snorkelling was amazing. Best snorkeling of our whole cruise (we paid for tours 3 times, but this free day was the best)
We saw a whole range of sea creatures, from urchins, to a multitude of fish including puffer's and lionfish. Also 6 or 7 rock lobsters hiding under the rocks (thought about bringing them back to the restaurant for lunch... but took pity)
Tons of coral.... Sea stars.... Overall some of the best snorkelling ever, and it started right from the shore.

“beach day”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 23, 2014

I followed the lead of others on this site $14 bucks return per person. We were not disappointed. The snorkelling was good seeing cow fish, puffer fish, a small ray and lots of other fish. It is a long swim out and back but worth the effort.
