I recently stayed at Ottleys's Plantation Inn, St.Kitts and can only describe it as heavenly. The staff and owners are just wonderful. very welcoming, friendly and always on hand to help. The grounds of the hotel are amazing and you can spend hours wandering through the gardens and rain forest or having a relaxing treatment in the Mango Orchard Spa. Serene and peaceful its the perfect getaway.

I simply savor the moments we spent At Ottley's! I have a picture from our vacation that I look at everyday and it takes me back to this glorious place on earth...
Thank you Ottley's for restoring my well-being. The place is glorious, the accommodations... glorious, the food ... glorious.

Without question, the location is beautiful. The individual cottage, where my wife and I stayed, was nicely appointed, and the plunge pool was an enjoyable feature. But, we have traveled extensively and stayed in some lovely inns and hotels throughout the world, and while Ottley's comes close, it is not that great. Our biggest complaint is reserved for the "old guy" owner. (I don't know his name.) Anyone reading this be forewarned, the "old guy" is rude, condescending and devoid of any sense of customer service. I would not normally comment on an individual, but this guy is the face of Ottley's, and his customer unfriendly nature can make an otherwise enjoyable vacation unenjoyable. Dinners, which we decided to forego after the first two were ok, but not great . Because we opted not to have dinner each night at Ottley's, it was clear that we were persona non grata. We were made to feel unwelcome and unappreciated. (I guess the cost of the room for 5 nights was not sufficient.) When we borrowed snorkel and fins for a day, we found after arriving at the beach that one of the fins was missing. I commented to my wife that Ottley's would probably accuse us of having lost it, and attempt to charge us. What do you think happened when we returned the gear and advised them of the missing fin? Some other random comments... if you arrange with Ottley's to have a taxi pick you up at the airport, don't count on it being there; do rent a car for a few days and drive around the island, experience the beaches (including sipping local cocktails made in the little beach shacks); sample the local cuisine at various island restaurants, and maybe just try Ottley's restaurant for one night; and, finally, bring your nickels and dimes because Ottley's will nickel and dime you to death. Bottom line, if you chose Ottley's, do so for the location and scenery, but spend as much time as possible experiencing the island itself, and not so much time at Ottley's.
