“Filthy, bug infested and waste of money”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed January 10, 2011

We booked 5 condos in Grand Cayman for a family holiday. We planned for a year. On arrival our condo was filthy, pubic hair, hair, dead cockroaches, dirty sheets and towels. I washed my sheets the first day and washed the floor by hand as the mop was covered in mud and filth. The management did nothing, the maid spent about 15 minutes cleaning. In fact the pipes for the hot water tank were so rusted it burst at 0400 am which we spent several hours cleaning up water, this of course resulted in no water for the morning. As well, we all ended up with chest infections due to the black mold that is all over the condos. Do not stay here, for the same money you can go where the owners actually care about thier property and the company does just do lip service to keep you quiet. Our family ended up split into different places as 2 family members had rats and mice, ( there is video), so our family holiday turned into a nightmare. Sadly it was some first experience with Grand Cayman and certainly did not make them want to rush back. The beach is rocky and to walk to the better part of 7 mile beach was not easy, esp for children and elderly

Myself and my family spent one of the best vacation weeks in our lives at TI condos. The beach and water there are great, the pool and pool bar great fun and staff and cleanliness of the condo outstanding.

Great for adults and kids...and don't miss string ray city with Dexter and his sail boat

Another great stay at Treasure Island! Condo was lovely and very clean. You can walk to so many restaurants from the complex that we returned our car since most water sports operators provide free transportation.

The beach is amazing! It used to have some iron shore but it has been completely redone. It's like a cove which makes it perfect for swimming or lounging on a raft. The kids loved it and they loved eating at the swim up restaurant.

Our trip to the caymans was very pleasurable, and it was nice because of the location of the condos. They had everything we needed and it was spacious enough for 2 families (4 adults and 4 young children). The beach was right next door to us and the pool/ pool bar was right there as well.
This made it easy for us to enjoy ourselves, even with small children. I would definitely stay there again.

The quality of the condo was great. Everything we needed was there. The location was fabulous for walking to Goergetown, and the only 2 negatives were the crummy beach and the college students staying in the hotel section who were allowed to use the condo ammenities. Quite rowdy on the weekend but during the week it was peaceful.

We are glad you enjoyed your stay at Treasure Island. We have recently completed a $750,000 beach renovation project to improve the quality of beach in front of Treasure Island Condominiums. The beach is now up to the standards that should be expected with a trip to the Cayman Islands.

We returned from our trip a week ago and had a wonderful time at the Treasure Island. The place was half empty, so we got a 2-bedroom unit for the price of 1. Our unit was "standard", but we liked it much more than the poolside ones, as it is noisier there.
The location is perfect, as it is close enough to walk to town (if you don't mind walking in 90+ degrees), yet it is very quiet. We rented a car, so we can drive around the island.
The only downside to the Treasure Island is the beach. It is great for snorkeling, but is extremely rocky, especially if you are with small children. We only went there twice, and we drove to the better beaches north of the hotel and south of Georgetown.
The island is great, as well, typical Caribbean, but without the poverty of most other islands we've visited.
If you go, you must go to Stingray City, it's an amazing experience.

My wife and friend stayed here with me for a 7 day stay in Unit # 122 in April 2010. We found the unit very affordable for the price offered and the owner was very nice with great communication.

The condo itself was on a great property with clean areas all around, great pool, great snorkel and chill beach area, hot tub that was shared, pool bar, and great west view for awesome sunsets.

Inside, it was spacious and well kept, with one of the best air conditioners I have ever had in a rental condo for the duration of the stay. The beds were very comfy, it had a safe in the bedroom, a great double walk out balcony on the bottom level which went right outside to a stunning view by the beach.

The only knocks were a host of small moths living in the kitchen cabinets, they were annoying a little, but not something that took away from the experience and the kitchen stove was a little old and did not work very well when we used it a couple of times with burners that were on the fritz, but this again, did not change my mind on this condo or condo area.

Great price, great location, very comfortable, excellent pool, beach, and views! Would definately recommend unit 122 and would gladly be honored to stay here again!

Excellent stay!
