“Excellent Service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 9, 2012

My husband and I stayed here in june for our anniversary. It was a very nice resort and the customer service was top notch. We were greeted with champagne for our anniversary upon check in. I had been concerned about some of the reviews i read about the walls being thin but we had no noise disturbances at all in our 10 day stay. The room was nice, although the outdoor balcony was very small. Housekeeping and turndown service were very good. The free breakfast buffet was good and all the staff there were friendly and greeted us by name. The vallets were also very friendly and helpful. Beach service was usually pretty good. My one complaint is that there are a lot of beach chairs and you have to sit right next to other people unless you want to be in a second or 3rd row. Luckily we only had to be in the second row once while we were there. Was frustrating to see families claim front row beach chairs first thing in the morning and then none of their kids used the chairs at all ever during the day cause they play in the sand and ocean all day. Some people would claim chairs and then leave to go have lunch and go snorkel at other beaches and not return til way late in the afternoon. Also the pool was shut down twice due to a child "going" in the pool. Even the staff expressed frustration stating that they provide swim diapers for free yet parents dont use them. I think they could avoid this by having an adults only pool. Many adults were disapointed that we had to have no pool due to this. Other than those two issues, the resort was very nice. We enjoyed our stay and would probably return again. We were also glad we had the package with the 100 dollar resort credit a day as the drinks were 15 dollars US at the beach...we didnt feel so guilty when we knew we HAD to spend it every day :-)

My wife and I went for our honeymoon and were not disappointed with our choice of the Ritz Cayman. We stayed on the Club level and would HIGHLY recommend making the jump to Club. Ask for the special drink menu that they have (list of island drinks on a front and back sheet) and enjoy the awesome food available in the club room (Shrimp night was our favorite, they were some of the biggest we've ever seen!). The food, while expensive (but hey, everything in the Cayman's is relatively pricey), was outstanding overall - we ate at all the restaurants on site and had room service several times. And as people have mentioned, Blue is worth the jaw-dropping prices....One thing we were concerned about was all the reviews about children at the resort. To address this, yes there were a few kids running around but we weren't bothered in the least. We'd recommend this hotel because you know what you're going to get: fantastic Ritz service, great rooms, and beautiful beaches and some of the clearest water we've ever seen.

We are just completing our stay in grand cayman at the Ritz Carlton. We have been to the island 7 times now and always find a well maintained property as well as a very friendly and welcoming staff. Since our last visit the hotel has offered things "included" such as valet parking, use of spa or workout room, use of water sport equipment and much more. As we checked in we were offered a nice chilled juice and some cookies- a very nice touch. Our ocean front room was very nice.
We will return again.

my 1st time ever review on trip advisor. wife and i went for our anniversary in may and loved the hotel. service was impeccable. everything was pricey, but if you don't mind paying for high quality service then this is the place for you. ate at the sushi restaurant which was fantastic. pool and poolside service was also great. if you are going for a special occasion, let them know and they will probably add a special touch to your trip.

This is a top of the line hotel. You pay for it. There were no ocean suites left, and so they upgraded us to a presidential suite. The patio overlooking 7 mile beach was at least 1,000 square feet. luxurious and spacious rooms. Great service. The gym was outstanding, and the sanctuary was a place to soak I the hit tub and steam rooms. you can sit on loungers in the ocean and have meals brought to you.

Room Tip: ocean side is the way to go; otherwise lots of walking.

This is a great hotel for families... not for people wishing to have a nice quiet or romantic 5 star experience. The pools and beach are packed with very active kids. The restaurants are more for the adults, therefore, in the evenings the restaurants are not busy because all the families leave and go somewhere less expensive or more casual. There is the Periwinkle restaurant that caters to the kids, but at sundown the mosquito's come out in droves. The staff hands out Off mosquito spray, and that is not very appetizing to smell or get on your food while eating. The pool bathrooms are in need of an update - a fresh coat of paint would be nice - doors are dirty and rundown. A small plastic cup of sparkling water by the pool is about $10.00. The beach is shoulder to shoulder with probably over 100 chairs. If you do not stay on the beach side you have to cross the street to get to the beach. We always stay in 5 star hotels when traveling and this hotel honestly felt more like a Marriott.

The positive reviews below are essentially correct. This is a very clean, luxurious resort with excellent service overall. Our ocean view room, while a bit removed from the beach, included a nice view of the beachside pool. A separate pool on the opposite side of the resort was supposedly intended for adults, but people bring their kids there anyway. It was too hot for the bathwater pools for us, in any case. No complaints on our room, itself. Food was mostly excellent - our dinner at Blue was among the best we've ever had, and the West of Cayman salad (available with chicken or a generous filet of mahi mahi) offered at Jack's poolside restaurant and through room service is a perfect lunch offering that fills you up without making you feel gross in a bathing suit. We did have one sole dish at 7 that tasted fishy, and an expensive dry aged steak that was good but not worth the $50 price tag. The breakfast buffet was comprehensive and delicious - sauteed plantains were a plus. The beach is impeccable, with clear water and soft sand. The downside was that there was high subscription (>90%) during our stay partly due to a wedding, so the beach chairs were somewhat cramped and crowded compared to what we're used to at 4-5 star resorts. The gym is solid and spacious, but it was pretty busy during our stay, so some of the stations got tied up - there seemed to be more fitness-conscious people at the resort than is usual. Spa treatments (facial and deep tissue massage) were very good but not outstanding, given the inflated pricing, and including gratuities in the cost serves as a disincentive for the spa professionals to go above and beyond. The resort is huge, so if you stay beachside (preferred), prepare for a long walk to and from the front desk and main resort entrance. We don't mind walking, but this was inconvenient the three times our room keys didn't work due to a faulty door lock (and not demagnetized keys). A five minute taxi ride to the fairly new Camana Bay mall is worth a brief day trip for lunch and shopping. Overall a very pleasant stay that we would repeat.
