Just returned from a wonderful stay at Harbour View Apartments. After extensive research, we chose this property to stray away from the often stressful and over-priced large hotel chains and mega-resorts. We were not disappointed. Habour View has a great location - a few miles from the airport, walking distance to downtown Georgetown, an international food store across the street (Kirks), a great restaurant next door (The Wharf) and best of all, a small, clean private beach right out your apartment door, complete with chairs, shade, and incredible snorkeling right off the dock.
The studio was not fancy but was clean, comfortable and had the option of ocean breezes or a very efficient A/C unit. The water pressure in the shower was perfect (there is only a shower, no bathtub) and the linens were clean and soft.
The kitchen in the studio is very basic but functional. Two things we did not have was a cutting board and wine glasses. We had some wonderful dining out experiences but some of our best nights were spent purchasing fresh fish, seafood, and/or steaks at Kirks and using one of the many Weber grills provided to grill some yummy and cost-saving beachfront dinners.
Harbour View was at full capacity the entire time of our stay, but you would never know it. It is quiet and very relaxed at all hours with the exception of an absurd amount of cruise ships coming in and out of the harbor several days a week.
We would recommend this property to anyone who is looking for a value-based, relaxing vacation and to people who enjoy snorkeling. If you are looking for a hotel that requires you to get up at 6am to reserve a pool chair, or ride up and down an elevator all day, or have a noisy bar, or have average food at inflated prices then look elsewhere. We are glad we didn't and we will spend the money we saved by staying at Habour View to book another vacation!
