We wanted a great meal for our final dinner in the Caymans and we definitely got one at Agua. The restaurant was also in a strip mall, but upon entering you got a whole different feel. It was classy without feeling stuffy and very inviting.
Our waitress was very friendly and attentive and we ordered a variety of items from the menu. To start we got a trio of the ceviche (Thai, Cayman and Baja) and all three were super refreshing. Probably some of the best ceviche I have had, which was surprising since the vibe of the restaurant was more Italian. We also got the lobster roll as a starter, which was more of an egg roll, but prepared well and fried nicely. It was okay, but nothing I would crave or order again, even though I am a fan of lobster.
For our entrees, I got the Grilled Shrimp and Lobster over homemade green fettuccine tossed with crustacean sauce. This was fabulous. The fettucini was amazing and really was the star of the dish. It was perfectly al dente and the sauce was heavenly. The shrimp and lobster were great too, but I could have had a plate of the pasta alone and been satisfied. My husband had the crab crusted mahi mahi which was good, but nothing spectacular. The sauce was nice, but the portion to sauce ratio was a bit off and left the fish more on the dry side.
To end our meal, we got the panna cotta which was delicious. The texture was perfect and there were bits of pineapple mixed in for texture. I usually prefer my panna cotta plain, but I actually didn't mind it this time with the fruit. There was a caramel sauce and a chocolate sauce on the side, but I chose to eat that by itself and leave the panna cotta in its purity.
Wonderful meal and though prices are on the higher side, the food was well worth it. I will be thinking of that ceviche and fettuccine for a long time!
