“A beautiful place with beautiful views”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 17, 2012 via mobile

George town villas is a very beautiful property that is convenient to alot of restaurants, stores and bars. Our unit was very comfy, great decor and breathe taking views from every window in every room - truly makes you feel like your both in paradise and in a home away from home. Our unit had everything we needed and with a short walk to the grocery store we were able to stock up on some items to cook during our stay. The grill in the courtyard is a plus with the ability to grill while overlooking the ocean.

Because we were in a unit on the 3rd floor the only flaw was having to drag our luggage up the stairs, but once in the door it was immediate relief at first sight of how beautiful the place was.

If you don't mind a 15 minute walk or short bus ride up to seven mile beach where the beach is larger and has a sociable crowd george town villas is the place to be.

I must admit it was pretty hard leaving this place. Can't wait to return again soon!

First let me say that the grounds & pool at this condo association are kept immaculate. We stayed in unit #311 at the condo in January 2012. We had decided to see if we could find a last minute get away and booked our spot 2 weeks prior so we were lucky and appreciative to get a reduced rate. After un-packing we grabbed the cell phone, which the owner told us we could use and where to load minutes, and headed to the grocery store to pick up what we would need for the week & add minutes to the phone. Unfortunately, we were not able to add any minutes to the phone as it was missing the sim card. After returning to the condo, we emailed the owner letting him know about the phone & asked if he knew where the sim card was located. That night we tried to cook a baked potato in the microwave. The microwave worked for about 3 minutes then quit. It was like it had no power. We checked the circuit breakers, which were fine. We finished the potato in a frying pan and had a nice dinner out on the balcony.
We emailed the owner to let him know about the microwave. The next morning (Wed) the microwave had power again. We did not send a note to the owner, thinking we would just let him know when he got back to us. We went SCUBA diving in the AM then back to the condo for lunch, & hit the pool in the afternoon. That night we again tried a potato in the microwave & the same thing happened. Complete shut down. The microwave looked to be in good shape with the exception of the missing glass turntable. We assumed it had broken and was never replaced. After letting it sit for a couple of hours, it did revive itself once again. On Thursday morning we again emailed the owner to ask if he had received our 2 previous emails and to let him know exactly what the microwave was doing. Thursday before lunch he finally responded telling us he would try to find the sim card & fix the microwave. That was the last communication received. Either on Saturday or Sunday we did send him one more email requesting an update. We received no response. His lack of communication was really quite irresponsible. At our reduced rate the condo was appropriately priced. However, at the full asking price this would not have been a good value.General good housekeeping is not provided. The floors are filthy. If you are barefoot, you need to wash your feet before getting into bed as they would be absolutely black. On top of the refrigerator there was sand and what looked like mouse droppings. The tub drains so very slowly that after your shower there is 2 to 3 inches of standing water. In addition, attention to the overall accommodations is lacking. The walls are badly in need of re-painting. The living room TV speakers are blown . We did not use the TV in the bedroom as it is in a cabinet to the right of the bed so you cannot see it if you are in bed. The sofa & chair in the living room are faded & stained. The bath towels are in need of replacing. Neither bathroom had a hairdryer. The kitchen is in a cubby hole with a microwave and toaster that need to be replaced. We washed dishes by hand nightly since there were only a limited number of them available and it seemed a waste to run the dishwasher with so few dishes in it. The one time we did run it there were suds & water standing in the bottom after it was finished. The balcony furniture chairs are worn out & need to be replaced. With a little TLC, maintenance and attention to basics accommodations this condo could be worth the high asking price, but not as it currently stands.

Just Got Back From Grand Cayman yesterday and we had a great time. Stayed in unit 311 At Georgetown Villas. Very clean, and had all the ammenities we could want. Great view too. Two Queen beds in one room and a King bed in the master that were better than ours at home. We booked it through VRBO(--). This place has a huge garden/lawn. Other places we looked at were set up with much less property, and looked to be more crowded. Snorkeling right off the beach out front. (our kids loved that.) I always check with tripadvisor before booking vacations so I thought I would wright a review too. Grand Cayman has restaurants second to none. We did not have a bad meal once. We go out to the best restaurants in Toronto and consider ourselves experianced. Grand Cayman has an Island feel with very prompt professional service. We had a great time and certainly would stay at George Town Villas again.

We (family of 4) thoroughly enjoyed this place. The suite is large, comfortable, and wonderfully decorated, and the view from the room of the courtyard and ocean beyond is gorgeous. The beach on the property is small and rocky, but you can snorkel right off it. There's also a shipwreck right off the beach.

If you want vast, white sandy beaches and bright blue-green water, you won't find them here--you'll need to go further up Seven Mile Beach for those. But if you like to snorkel, and you don't like big crowds, this place is perfect.

It's also very convenient to grocery stores, restaurants, and shops. You won't need a car.

We have stayed at George Town Villas several times and keep returning for several reasons - the main one being the great value found there. All the condos are 2-bedrooms which make it easy to bring family/friends along with us. Every condo has a view of the beautiful central garden and the sea. The beach is not the best along 7 Mile Beach, but the snorkeling is fabulous right in front of the condo and it's a short swim to a wreck where fish love to congregate. The condo is very well furnished and we enjoy making breakfast and lunch there and then walking to numerous restaurants for dinner. The grill by the pool makes casual dinners easy too. A large grocery store and other shops are also within easy walking distance. This is the perfect place to go to relax, enjoy beautiful scenery, live in supreme comfort and leave all worries behind.

We stay at George Town Villas everytime we visit the Cayman Islands. Everything is within walking distance. Safety is always a concern, where ever we go, we felt very safe at GTV. The facility was clean, quiet, comfortable and very professional. I'm sure there are places that are a bit more expensive and lavish but, the room is used to sleep, eat & relax. I would rather put my money on the things to do. You can't go wrong with GTV, it is worth every penny spent & then some.
