This property is a bit dated and although they have done a decent job of keeping the grounds up the wear is starting to show through. The "garden view" apartments aren't really garden view - more like "outside fence view" and the units aren't kept in the greatest condition. We had a stove that only partially worked and the (plastic!) dishes were right out of the 60s. When we complained they said they would take care of everything immediately and then did absolutely nothing.

There are better places to stay on 7 mile beach for this level of cost.
I'll be headed to them for my next trip to Cayman.

I stayed at the Tarqyunn Manor Feb. 2004 with my 8 year old. Our room was a garden view room which was very dissapointing, noisy air conditioning units and junk was our view from patio. The room was not very nicely decorated and not the cleanest. The walls were dirty. When I complained the staff happily switched us to an oceanfront room at no extra charge. Another family had the same problem with a GV room and was upgraded also. This room was beautiful (unit #5)Very nicely furnished, comfortable all around, very clean and homey feeling. This room is on the ground floor which makes easy access to the beach but you can hear the people walking around upstairs which was ok for us because they werent to loud but I would guess if a family with kids running were there it would have been noisy. The towels in the bathrooms are nice and thick. We went to the grocery store for breakfast and lunch items which saved lots of $. There are grills on the grounds to use if you wish. Nice thick large beach towels provided.
The view is of the pool and ocean. All the staff is very friendly! The pool is very clean and there are beach toys and rafts to borrow. Kids all loved the pool and beach. Great place for families. The beach is beautiful, soft white sand, beautiful clean water. Sea turtles cruz the waters and swim right by you! Which makes for fun snorkling. The beach was never crowded. Pleanty of lounge chairs around pool and beach. Nice hammoks in the shade. We ate at the Calypso Grill which was exellent!
Also ate at The Lobster Pot which was lousy and service sort of slow.
Rum point is a fun place to visit! Shallow waters to snorkle in and the wreck bar has great lunch and tasty mudslides!! Gets crowded so get your hammok or chairs early if you want them. I will go to the Cayman Islands again. Lots to do. Nice condo if you get the oceanfront units.

We've stayed at Tarquynn twice. This is a great condo complex in a very quiet part of 7 mile beach. The staff is friendly and unobtrusive, but the best part of the place is the beach and water. They are absolutely unparalleled ANYWHERE.

The sea turtles cruise the shallows looking for you to feed them. Try it, it's lots of fun.

My husband and I along with our daughter stayed at tarquynn manor. The room was nice and roomy as most condo styles we had to do our own dishes the maids took care of the rest and they did a great job. Nice propane grills on the property. Small property, pretty quite, hardly ever anyone at the pool. We loved the calm, warm ocean as did our daughter, the ocean was just footsteps from the pool. We could walk about 10 minutes along the beach and get to one of the best snorkeling sites on Grand Cayman. Loved the turtles that would swim up near the shore. Felt very safe at all times. Taraquynn is not a high rise and not a place to party as it is a ways away from town. If you like a quite place to stay, Id recommend. It is a great place for families! Didnt go into Georgetown very often , if you want to go in to Georgetown to get souvenirs, would recommend doing it when to cruise ships are not at the port. The locals are very friendly!
