CoCoPlum is a small property--approximately 30 years old--located 'technically' on Seven Mile Beach. I say that as the beach at the property is not what you would expect given the name. As others have mentioned it is rocky, and it is decent walk (in Cayman humidity) to the soft powder beach. The unit we stayed in (#10) was in excellent shape and was very comfortable. The best feature by far was the large porch, which had very comfortable furniture and a very nice view. When we were there very few people were around, in fact there were two days we were the only people at the pool. (Can't get that further down on the white sand beach.) We rented unit #10 direct from the owners.
With the central location we hoped to get away without renting a car, however walking in the summer heat even a short distance isn't terribly pleasant. All depends on the person and how well you handle the heat. It is approximately 1/4 mile to the grocery, and just short of a mile to Georgetown. There are a several restaurants within a short walk, and many within walking distance. The furthest we walked was to "the Reef" for dinner--and then into Georgetown one rainy day. Definitely got our exercise. The best food value by far is PaPa Johns - which is very close. We ate twice at the Wharf, which I love, but was around $100 for us both (without drinks) so be prepared to spend some money there. We also ate at the Irish pub, which is very close by. Good food and plenty of beer variety.
Overall CoCoPlum was a good experience for us. We have been to Grand Cayman several times, and suspect next time we'll head back down to the area around the Westin. That said, this vacation was exactly what we wanted--something off the beaten path, quiet and relaxing.
