Just spent a week in June at Discovery Point and loved it!
My wife and I stayed in number 35 with our 1 year old son. It was the perfect spot for a small child. The property is nice and very well-kept, the beach is stunningly beautiful, and it's very private, quiet and safe. Getting there was easy, and everything we needed (stores, restaurants, attractions) was a short drive away. Plus, you're not near the rest of the tourists and the only noise you hear is the surf. Each apartment has thick walls and glass - we never heard a noise from another apartment.
The units are very large and all have great views. TV, cable, dvd, ipod dock,in each room as well. Our apartment was a second floor unit which meant carrying our son up the stairs, so I could see people with kids opting for a ground floor apartment. The beach was never packed, always plenty of room on the beach, plenty of chairs and plenty of room by the pool. Also, plenty of parking as well. Renting a car in Cayman is a must, especially if you're staying in this area
Miss Ollie and the staff were very helpful throughout. Rocky start because our unit wasn't ready despite telling them we were arriving early, but the staff responded quickly to fix any issues. All of the recommendations were perfect, including the car rental from Oscar and the charter boat to sting ray city. What I liked is that the recommendations all came across as genuine and not just pushing us to the place that offers kickbacks like some hotels/resorts.
The beach is very rocky and can be a bit difficult to enter the water at first, but the snorkeling is fantastic.
I don't know about other units, but I wish ours had frying pans. Also wish that they had a greener towel service policy. These minor points aside, we loved it and have talked about going back.
Would definitely recommend this to families and couples looking for real relaxation and comfort.
