“STILL A GREAT EXPERIENCE”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 5, 2013

We've written about ABC previously but felt an update was in order. ABC is a small complex on the northern end of Seven Mile Beach meaning a bit further from "town" and the larger concentration of restaurants as you head south. This said, it's a very compact area over-all so everything on SMB is just minutes away by car or cab. Since our last visit the local "freeway" has been extended and now exits very close to ABC. Sadly this road improvement caused the route directly south along the beach to be closed. To use this more tourist friendly path you've now got to enter the freeway and jump back off at the next exit toward town. Back to ABC, it's a can't miss for two very important reasons; it's SUPER WELL MANAGED and, because of the size of the complex, it's quiet vs. the beach hotels and the larger condo complexes. In the rare case that something's not right (each condo is privately held....things break and furnishings may not be 100% to your taste or individual needs) the problem will be addressed quickly if reasonably possible. The grounds and facilities are really well maintained. Though directly on the beach, entry into the water can be anything from gradual and sandy to rocky and uneven. This can change in just a matter of days based on the weather and wave action (if there is any). Don't be concerned as someplace in the immediate vicinity ALWAYS has easy access. Our opinion: one of the best places to stay on the beach but please don't tell anyone (we hate it when the dates we want are booked).

Room Tip: Ground floor affords you direct access to the grounds, pool and beach from the screened porch. Seco...

My husband and I have stayed at the Aqua Bay Club several times now. We have stayed in a few different units and they are all very spacious, nicely furnished and extremely clean. It is located in West Bay at the end of 7 Mile Beach. There is a gorgeous, picture perfect beach out front that you can jump in and do some snorkeling. There is also a nice pool with plenty of lounge chairs to enjoy. We enjoy coming to the Aqua Bay club because it is quiet and relaxing. It is away from all the hustle and bustle of 7 Mile Beach but still close enough if you feel like heading over there. It is right beside the grocery store which is fantastic. The screened in porch is an added bonus. You can enjoy the evenings without getting eaten alive by bugs. We have stayed in unit 21 and 16 and they are both fantastic with a perfect view of the ocean from the 3rd floor. We have already booked our next stay at ABC.

Room Tip: There is no elevator so if you want a 3rd floor unit just be aware that you must carry your luggage...

We (family of 4, English, 2 mid teenage sons) stayed here for 12 nights after Easter. A GREAT choice for sure. Deena and Renda both super helpful and friendly as we're all the staff. All very clean, great beach, beautiful views and at the more pleasant and quieter end of seven mile beach whilst having a large supermarket just 500 metres away. Plenty of sun chairs we found the first week it was fairly full as US school holidays but never felt too busy and then after this we pretty much had the place nd this area of the beach to ourselves, just a few people walking along the shore and 300 metres or so in each direction 2 good public beaches. Whilst here we did some excellent activities. The best of all was stingray city with Lorenzo (Italian) of sunraystours. Very very good and just a 3 mins drive from aqua bay club to his 50 ft catamaran. We had a couple of late afternoons up till sunset at the beach at the westin hotel around 1.5 miles back along seven mile beach towards Georgetown. From here we jet skied and rested on the beach whilst using their cafe and facilities and enjoying the late afternoon atmosphere there. We also parasailed with 'parasailing professionals' - they picked us up from abc and that was a really good experience for me and the 2 boys. Re dolphins, dolphin cove and not discovery is the one to go to. The actual dolphin experience was very very good - if you can do the full experience. It felt pretty commercialised and the staff were a little nonchalant and you tend t get all the cruise ship people but still very good. Incidentally the cruise ships seem less around on Fridays, Saturdays and Mondays and this makes a massive difference so target doing activities then or after 3.00 pm when they have gone - well worth it. Grand cayman motor museum (10 mins by car) was also excellent as a small and interesting car museum with a few ore surprises and we enjoyed a fee pass in to the turtle farm from the dolphin experience. The motor museum and turtles are pretty much opposite each other and take perhaps 2 hours between the two for a decent visit on a cloudy day or in the heat of the day ( they close around 4.00/ best to ring them on the day). The less good dolphin place is right opposite the turtle farm so be careful not to get confused!! At ABC we also played tennis free at silver sands club next door - very decent 2 courts - not floodlit. We stayed in condo 22 - quiet and very good view overall - being on the top floor (there's only found, first and second) it was lovely not to have noise from above and still completely simple to get to the pool and beach each day - no shoes or sandals required. Very good air conditioning which we certainly needed and a perfectly well stocked kitchen, decent TV, lighting and so forth. The bedrooms are fairly light at night so if you like it dark bring some black out stuff that you can buy on the Internet or an eye mask. All in all certainly a great Caribbean paradise feel with fantastic sea colours and lovely sand on the beach. The best restaurant we ate at was papagallos, an Italian feel up by a bird sanctuary, they have mosquito netting that made for an outdoor feel without ny mosquitoes or bugs. We also found xqs and the lighthouse good as well as la dolce vita towards Georgetown harbour, great spot if a little pricey. Enjoy and certainly a highly recommended place to stay. Far better than most, if not all the other condos having walked most of seven mile beach. Not too big, not too small!!

Room Tip: They are all good. Top floor for quietness and best views or ground floor if you like being able to...

Unit 5a. Very nice unit. Well stocked and decorated. Not too far north and a good balance between being close to action a d having some quiet. Great for families. A car rental is a good idea. The kitchen and outdoor grills are better than most condos. Top notch all thd way.

My wife and I stayed at Aqua Bay club from Jan. 26 to Feb 2, 2013, in a 2-bedroom, 2 bath condo on the first floor. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely consider ABC in the future.
Our first floor condo had a screened in porch with door and we could walk directly out to pool area and beach. The grounds around the pool and beach were immaculate…the grass almost like a putting green. There did not ever seem to be much of a crowd and there were always chairs available poolside and under the ‘cabanas’ on the beach. Large beach tools were provided in the room.
Condo was well furnished, with well equipped kitchen and good quality furniture…plenty of space for 2 couples to share the facility.
At the far ‘northern’ end of 7 mile beach near West Bay, it was a bit far from town, but there is a Foster’s grocery within about a half mile and good restaurants nearby (Heritage Kitchen and Tim-Buc-Tuu).
Snorkeling was good right of the beach in front, but my wife and I had to take a bit of care entering/exiting the water as there are some rocks/uneven areas of footing (we both have bad ankles/knees so we have to be careful!)
Mostly a very quiet place, however the floors were tile, which was fine for our unit, but whenever someone was walking in the upstairs unit in hard footwear, i.e. high heels, it sounded like someone hammering on the floor. This was a bit disturbing around 11:00 p.m. on a couple of nights.
Overall a good experience and probably a good value for beachfront/ocean view accommodations on 7 mile beach.

We have stayed here several times and always enjoy coming back. This is a small resort of about 18-condo units located on the quieter end of 7 Mile Beach. Yet it is only minutes away from all the restaurants, shops, etc. that the 7 Mile beach area offers. Units are owned by individual owners and the decor of each varies somewhat although all have similar floorplans. Balcony's are screend in and all units have spectacular ocean views.

The resort is well maintained and the beach area is very nice, with ample chairs, umbrellas, etc. Very nice pool and hot tub. The beach in this area is generally calm and good for small children. Nice snorkeling out front, and just down the beach at Cemetary reef. Front office staff very friendly and helpful.

Room Tip: Units on 2nd & 3rd offer better ocean views, and more privacy from pool/beach area. However ther...

Since being a member on Trip Advisor I have never given anything 5 stars. I cannot wait till the day I do because i will always go back to that place. We stayed Nov 29th to Dec 7th.. So the Aqua Bay club would not say it is a 4 star hotel because it is not a hotel it is more of a Condo unit. I would consider it a good 3 star hotel if I had to. Here are the facts if you are looking for a quiet low key relaxing vacation spot on seven mile beach, for the money I would HIGHLY recommend this place.. Beach is AWESOME. Why the beach is better than the hotel to the left and to the right is because Aqua Bay has NO rocks in the sand while walking into the ocean... It is pure white sand.. You don’t have to be careful walking in and out. You look to the left and the right the hotels on each side do not groom there sand, lots of rocks, not as comfortable as the Aqua Bay club... Rooms are fine! Clean, spacious and working! Air conditioner never broke down, mattresses were good quality firm, and cable TV had lots of movie channels... Pool is small but is enough for the entire condo unit. Hot tub was nice. The place is kid friendly there were young kids when we were there so it was nice.. So some suggestions for you if you plan to stay. RENT a car, you can try and not rent one but if you go up the road its $25 bucks.. If you are the type of people who just enjoy staying local, walk out of the aqua bay club make a left and you will hit the super market less than a half mile down.. Stock up on booze and food and just chill out!! The island is expensive as hell!! Convert your American dollars to CI so you don't feel like you are getting ripped off! Great places to eat, Calypso Grille, Blue Cilantro, the Ritz... Visit Rum point it is worth it you can spend the day there and eat and drink... Snorkel at Cemetery beach it is about 500 yards away from the Aqua Bay club.. Really nice coral reefs and worth the time, you can skip the snorkel tour not worth the trip or money, there is snorkeling right in the back yard at the Aqua Bay club.. Again this is a nice condo that has what you need, not 5 stars but really worth it. I asked for late checkout and it was NO problem, we appreciated that. Here is the best info of all. MAKE sure you stay in the ground unit... If you stay on the 2nd or 3rd floor you have to go to the back of the building and walk around to get to the beach.. Ground unit makes it SOOO nice and convenient...

Room Tip: Choose GROUND floor!!
