You can't ask for more in a beach vacation! Casa Caribe has it all... well appointed, large, spotlessly clean rooms, washer/dryer, fully equipped kitchens, screened-in huge patio, pool, hot tub, beautiful uncrowded beach in a perfect location on Seven Mile Beach, and convenient to food shopping and restaurants. The staff - Effie, Mgr., Neal, Resrvations, through to Housekeeping and Mantenance, go way beyond your imagination to make you feel like family, not just guests! Unit #3 has become our home away from home for the third year (on ground level, just a few steps onto the beach). My husband and I cannot praise Case Caribe enough... don't miss an opportunity to stay here - you will not be sorry!!

Room Tip: Ground Level units go straight onto the beach. There's a convenient elevator to the upper two s...

Unit 18 has 3 large bedrooms and 3 full baths. And a full size kitchen like at home. All air-conditioned, of course.
But the amazing feature that this unit has is the rarely found daylight on all four sides. And a grand-size screened in porch that gives a perfect view of the glorious sunsets. The Casa Caribe does have a pool, and an elevator.
It is so modern and well-equipped, with free Wi-Fi, MagicJack and Huge TV's with cable. We watched all of the basketball tournaments, and stateside networks. The Casa Caribe is waterfront with a 300 foot beach you dream about. Pure white powder-soft sand. Across the street is a super market like at home, deli, bakery and all. We treated ourselves with 2 weeks of paradise.

Room Tip: Unit 18 is by far the best for sunsets and lots of daylight. Quiet also.

We last visited Casa Caribe in 1998. Not much has changed since then. And, that's probably why we rate this a 4-star instead of 5-star property.

We stayed in Unit 4, which is a 3-bedroom, two bath unit located on the first floor next to the center walkway of the property. While the unit was tastefully decorated, it hasn't been updated in a while. It's just a little aged around the edges.

The unit is well-stocked with books, board games and puzzles. In fact, some of our best times during this vacation were during cloudy days putting together puzzles on the screened-in porch. There were also inflatables, a couple of snorkel masks, and a set of fins.

One of the best aspects of Casa Caribe is that it is located in the heart of Seven Mile Beach. One of the worst aspects of Casa Caribe is also that it is located in the heart of Seven Mile Beach. We travelled at the height of Spring Break and the beach was very busy with walkers, particularly on the overcast days when the sea was heavy and cruise ships were in port. They weren't stopping on our part of the beach, but traffic was heavy. Similarly, traffic on Seven Mile Beach Road is heavy, but you are located within walking distance of several good restaurants. You could probably stay here all week and have no need of renting a car.

Nevertheless, Casa Caribe is an oasis compared to the Ritz Carlton or Cayman Beach Suites, which are a couple of doors down on either side of the beach. Those places are covered with beach chairs, people and jet skis. This is not to say that Casa Caribe is perfect. There are a limited number of beach umbrellas, and you need to claim your spot pretty early in the morning or get stuck in the sun.

Also, in our case, a large group of Spring Breaking college students staying at the complex decided that they would lounge directly in front of our unit. This resulted in a lot of drinking, cussing and trash on the beach.

In comparison, we stayed at Christopher Columbus for Spring Break last year. It's just more quiet at the North End of Seven Mile Beach. But, you need a car to get to restaurants. And, the water in front of Christopher Columbus has more coral and is not as good for swimming. For us, it would be a close call on whether to choose Christopher Columbus or Casa Caribe. Without the college kids, we probably would return.

We are just completing a week at Casa Caribe. We have a beautful beach front unit. The location is excellent (just below the Ritz) and the beach is NOT CROWDED. This is an important thing to note. The beach in front of the big hotels or really large condo buildings is wall to wall with chairs and people. Not so with a small condo building like Casa Caribe. There are maybe 4 or 5 other families on the beach here at any one time. The facilities are excellent. Our condo is spacious (3 BDRM, 3 Bath) and well maintained. It is beautifully furnished. The pool is great and very clean. Ditto for the hot tub. Staff here is also wonderfu. Neal made a whole host of reservations for us at restaurants, for diving, etc. We arrived very late on a Saturday night and Neville, the night manager, actually drove me across the street to the supermarket because they were about to close and would not be open the next day (Sunday). I managed to get critical supplies in the 15 minutes they were still open. Can't ask for better service than that! We will most certainly be back to Casa Caribe.

Room Tip: Corner condos are great if you can get one. Definitely go for a beach front unit.

My wife, my 4 month old daughter and our friend rented a ground floor apartment at Casa Caribe in the off season (Oct 2011). We were worried about hurricane season, but took the gamble.

It paid off!!

We were the ONLY people at the location, received two nights for free and loved our time there. We stayed on the ground floor which I recommend as you can just walk straight out onto the beach and relax in the wonderful calm and warm ocean. It was really like a home away from home, but with a 5 star beach and ocean. Even better as it was the off season there was few people on the beach, making 7 mile beach a delightful and relaxing experience.

The weather wasnt perfect with storms on somedays, but we still got a lot of sun and went diving on the days that the forecast wasnt great. The diving was very good at Grand Cayman (although no Little Cayman) and we also had excellent access to restaurants and the supermarket was just across the street making it convienent to stock up on beers and food (although be warned....food aint cheap!).

Anyway, we would certainly do it again and invite other family members to join our group. It isnt the cheapest of places, so splitting it helps a lot and the apartments have plenty of space and are very nicely furnished.

The service was charming, nice, and helpful.....but to be honest, we didnt really need a lot of help. The place had everything we needed already.

I definitely recommend this place.....but do recognize that it can be rather expensive for some.

Room Tip: Ground floor rooms are best. Super easy and private access to the beach.

I just traveled to Grand Cayman with my husband and two daughters and we stayed in Casa Caribe Unit 5. We have been to Grand Cayman many times and have always stayed at the Ritz Carlton, which we love. However, we wanted to stay somewhere with more room as our daughters are getting older. It is very spacious and private, and having the beach just outside your door is so nice and convenient. We loved everything about Casa Caribe! In fact, the airlines lost my luggage and when we arrived on the island on Sunday there was only one pharmacy open where I could buy some things I needed and they were about to close. The manager of Casa Caribe offered to drive me to the pharmacy, waited for me to purchase the items, and drove me back. That's customer service!!!

We have been to Grand Cayman several times but decided on a condo this time as our kids are getting older and we needed the space. Let me say we will NEVER stay in a hotel again. This was truly perfect. The single most important aspect of Casa Caribe is the location. It has a perfect, almost private beach. We rarely saw anyone else and it was very relaxing. It very close walking distance (5 mins) to grocery, liquor and restaurants. Also note there is good snorkeling to the left (when facing the ocean). We saw a sea turtle and many other big and small colorful fish. The complex is small which makes it less crowded than other places. The maid service is excellent - they clean each day (except Sunday) and really leave the place spotless. The front office is very helpful as well - Neal and Effie are extremely helpful. As far as the fitness center goes, my daughter said it best - it's great if you are the only one in there :-) it worked fine for us - there is a treadmill and recumbent bike and some weights but that is it - very small but we never ran into anyone else when in there.

We stayed in Unit 3. Here are some tips for Unit 3. There is very good WIFI so I was able to easily go on the internet from my iPad (helpful for reservations and keeping in touch), they have cable TV which was nice as we wanted to watch the Euro soccer games. They have fins and masks for snorkeling in the unit in case you forget or don't have your own. This is an oceanfront walk out unit which is IDEAL - you can easily walk in and out while on the beach if you want a drink or snack or just to take a little break from the sun.

Additional tips for Unit 3 - they have a DVD player but no movies. After a long day in the sun if you want to kick back and watch a DVD you must bring your own. I realize a lot of people won't want to watch a dvd while on vacation but just in case. Also, they have no games - so our family had to play cards or Jenga (only game they had). The unit overall is very nice but the bathrooms are showing wear and they need to paint. Kitchen appliances are older - but still operate. Kitchen cooking items are old and not too good (pots/pans/spatulas etc...) The beds are a bit lumpy but we all decided we could always sleep during the day on the beach so not a big deal.

Overall I would say Casa Caribe is EXCELLENT, Oceanfront walkout is the way to go and Unit 3 is great.
