We stayed a week at TI Condos and enjoyed our stay. The condo had a great view of the ocean (3rd Floor) and watched the cruise ships each day come in and go out. The snorkeling as everyone states is wonderful, but not good for families with small children wanting to swim as it's very rocky. The hotel appearance was disappointing and not something you want to look at during a vacation. Locals did stay there and it was evident with balconies with personal items hanging everywhere. Billy Bones was fun but only had drinks. If you can overlook the hotel appearance and just focus on the condos your ok. Good value for the money, but the hurricane took it's toll on TI and improvements were slow in coming. One day we woke up to contractors putting a new roof on. Office did get us a DVD player as promised. We were focused on scuba diving and wanted a place too cook meals and save $'s.

An FYI to all out there - the Treasure Island Resort is no more. After the huricane from a few years back former resort hotel was turned into apartment type units which are rented by students and locals. Most, if not all the recent rating here are about the Treasure Island Condos. The two share much of the same property, including pool, bar, and the rocky beach.

See my review of the Treasure Island Condos.

We booked throuth the resort online. In retrospect we should have dealt directly with the owner on vrbo.com. The rooms were great. They had a crib and high chair for our infant. Our condo was fully stocked with supplies including a cooler and beach umbrella. Security guards were always floating around. All in all, it is a condo that feels like a hotel resort.

As a negative, 7 mile beach is extremely busy and touristy. Food at the reort (Billy Bones) is expensive and not interesting. The wireless internet signal only works around the bar.

First let me say that this review is about the Treasure Island Condos. The Treasure Island hotel is managed by an entirely different company. So although they share grounds, pools, and some other facilities they are totally different things.

On to the condos. First off, the location is really great. It's right on seven mile beach. About 1 mile south takes you into Georgetown where you can shop until you run out of money (which you will quickly). All along seven mile beach are restaurants, dive shops, grocery stores, gas stations, and anything else you might need.

Note that this hotel does not have a beach that allows for easy swimming. Several reviewers mention this. You have to go farther north down the beach if you want that. There are a couple of areas though that you can enter the ocean and do some amazing snorkeling. There is a reef right there and there are plenty of fish swimming around you. Wear water shoes or diving boots to avoid the rocks. Then slip on your fins and mask and have at it. I saw fish as large as tarpon swimming there. If you just want to sun yourself on the sand then the beach area is just perfect. It's quiet and uncrowded.

The pool is another great feature of the condos. There are a series of 3 pools. Two are linked together and join up to Billy Bones swim up bar and grill. I didn't sample the food but it smelled good. The bar gets crowded and rowdy at night so choose your swim times appropriately. Locals like to meet up here. The pool was always clean and comfortable. A small hot tub is right next to it.

The three bedroom condo we had was plenty roomy. It was on the third floor at the oceanfront which meant a lot of stair climbing. With luggage this is no fun but the rest of the trip it is really no big deal. You get a fantastic view on the balcony and you can watch the sunset out over the ocean. The inside of the condo was simple. Nothing extravagant but the essentials were provided. A fully stocked kitchen was there and all the silverware and place settings you would need were right in the cabinet.

My biggest complaint and disappointment about the condos was the lack of service. Keep in mind they are clear that they only provide "light touch" maid service every three days to include changing sheets, sweeping, vacuuming, and cleaning bathrooms. On the other days they are supposed to provide towels and restock shampoos, toilet paper, and so on. Well what we received was far below these standards. For some reason they simply quit restocking in the middle of our trip. Running out of toilet paper was no fun at all the wrong moments. I asked them to please change a light bulb over the vanity early on the trip because it was burnt out. They said they would, and then didn't. Another bulb burnt out towards the end of the trip and so we were getting dressed pretty much in the dark. I don't think they ever cleaned the bathrooms the entire 10 days we were there. No sweeping or vacuuming was done.

Midway through the trip they turned the water off in the morning one day. The explanation was a water main break. However we were never updated about the status or progress. A call to the office produced the response "I have no idea when it will be back on but I'll call you when I know". Well we never received a call. And the water was not turned back on until late that night. So no toilet flushing, showers, etc for a day.

As you would expect some things in the condo didn't work. It's pretty typical that not everything functions as you'd like. But it was strange that things like a cordless phone was in the bedroom but no power cord existed to charge it. The television in the master bedroom only got a religious station and the remote didn't work. The shelves in the refridgerator were cracked and broken. Just some odd things here and there that were annoyances when spending as much as they charge to stay here.

It really was too bad about the service because had that been up to par this would have been a pretty good place to stay. However given how much they charge I wasn't very happy with their idea of service. I wasn't expecting luxury or I'd have stayed at the Ritz. But I did expect basic needs to be supplied and general housekeeping. So I can't recommend Treasure Island condos. I think people should probably look elsewhere on Seven Mile Beach for accomodations.

We are here now. The 2 bedroom condo is fine, great view of pool and ocean, and Debbie is very helpful. If you want a beach where you can lay out AND swim, this resort is not the right choice. There is a reef in front of the property, and the water is rocky for awhile, at least on the north side. If you want to find a beach where you can lay and swim without rocks under your feet, you have to walk up close to the Marriott, and they are NOT HAPPY about anyone using their chairs, unless you pay $10 per chair. So, you really have nowhere to sit on a beach with chairs where the kids can swim in water without rocks. Also, the old hotel part is now apartments, rented by what appear to be young local folks. I am a bit uncomfortable with the teenagers walking around alone at night, not because it feels particularly unsafe, but there are just people other than condo guests coming and going. On Easter Sunday, the pool area was taken over by the renters and their friends, and the atmosphere was not appropriate for families. There is no restaurant, no other "hotel" amenities or services other than light maid service.

All in all, a good value for the money, but the property has declined over the past few years based on the comments of some of the locals who work the watersports attractions.
