The 7 Mile Beach Resort was absolutely fabulous! We traded our time share to stay at this resort. The staff at this resort was fantastic and went above & beyond the call of duty. Miriam in the office was kind enough to make restaurant reservations at the Grand Old House for us and also confirmed our Pirate Cruise aboard the Jolly Roger. She was incredibly helpful. Captain Andy, Mick & Vangie made our trip to Stingray City wonderful. Andy let my son help drive the boat and Mick dubbed my son "Captain ZigZag" due to his knack of steering (or lack there of). Every employee of the resort that we came in contact with was extremely nice and helpful. We loved being able to check out movies in the office. The pool was a bit cold for me, but my husband & son enjoyed it immensely. The hot tub was great. The beach was a short walk away and a bit small, but very nice. The rooms were incredible! All new appliances in the kitchen, the two bedrooms were very nicely decorated, as was the living & dining areas. The bathrooms were nice too. We enjoyed eating breakfast on the screened in balcony. Everything was great.
We stocked up on groceries at Fosters Food Fair, but later checked out Kirk's Market as well. Both have a good selection of foods.
If you are looking to try some great local restaurants, I'd highly recommend "Over the Edge" and "Heritage Kitchen." Over the Edge is near Rum Point, which also is a must see. The food was so good we ate there twice. We tried Turtle Steak, Grilled Wahoo, Conch Steak & Conch Fritters. All were really tasty. Heritage Kitchen is a small building behind the gas station at the four way stop. I believe it is only open on Thursday & Friday evenings. The have Fish Tea (a fish soup) and excellent steamed fish (plus other items). Very good.
For Beaches, our favorite spots were Rum Point, Smith's Cove and 7 Mile beach. The spot in front of Calico Jack's was great too. They also have the best Pina Colada's.
Stingray City was great, and the Pirate Cruise was a lot of fun. My son, who is 5, absolutely loved it. Well worth the money. We also spent a day at the East End and swam there and visited Pedro St James (great historical site) and Queen Elizabeth's Botanical Park, where we saw a huge blue iguana in the wild. If you like snorkeling, it doesn't get much better than Soto's Reef aka Cheeseburger Reef (due to it's proximity to Burger King). It's like swimming in an aquarium.
An absolutely fantastic trip and I'm ready to go back now!
Again, thanks to the 7 Mile Beach Resort & her staff for helping to make our vacation absolutely fabulous!
