Ever wonder what it felt like to spend an absorbitant amount of money on an amenity that was over-priced and unwarranted? I got that feeling well over 5 times during my stay at the Westin last week. While my family and I had an enjoyable trip, I felt nickel and dimed so many times that it became laughable. I had to rent the poolside and beach cabanas because there were insufficient chairs to sit EVERYDAY of my trip. If you did not get up at 6:45 am every morning to reserve a chair at the pool or beach you were not going to ever sit at either place! So I had to spend $1000 total (three separate rentals) to enjoy the pool and the beach. Add on 16 percent service tax and another 20 percent exchange rate and before you known you realize how over-priced and unwarranted it all is! While I tried to enjoy my vacation as I am nowhere near a cheap spender, I just found it annoying, especially because the service was terrible. The staff to customer ratio was halfnof what it needed to be. I as disappointed in the value for the money.
The rooms overall were nice and beach was beautiful, but I could have gotten that anywhere.
Not a memorable hotel experience. Spa was also ridiculously over-priced. My daughter had a mani-pedi for $165.00US. Come on!
