My wife and I just finished dinner at this unassuming Italian eatery located on Seven Mile Beach near the Ritz Carlton and Westin Casuarino. We were warmly welcomed by the host and our waiter, Pepino, and the service was uniformly excellent. The decor is typical Italian, with empty wine bottles everywhere and a number of different rooms and a separate bar area. The menu is extensive, with every type of pasta, appetizers and entrees you would expect to see. My wife ordered a tower of grilled vegetables as a starter and grilled salmon with a very nice lime and mango sauce as an entree, accompanied by generic roasted potatoes and steamed vegetables with no sauce or herbs. The grilled vegetable were OK, nothing to write home about. The salmon was very tasty and cooked perfectly, a little crispy outside but moist inside. I ordered the "Cajun BBQ Prawns" as an appetizer and the Piccante Veal Milanese with lemon, caper and butter sauce and the same generic vegetables described above. The 4 spicy shrimp were very good, but extremely small. At a cost of about $17.00 U.S., or over $4.00 per shrimp, not a good value at all. When I see the word "prawn" I expect to see something larger than an inch long. The veal was very tender, the sauce was creamy and delicious, and very satisfying. All in all a good meal, but somewhat overpriced. By comparison, the night before we ate at Copper Falls Steakhouse located next door for about the same amount of money, about $140.00 US, including tip and two drinks. Even though the cuisines are different, the comparison is valid from a value standpoint. At Copper Falls the portions were larger, the sides much more luxurious, and the ambiance much better. In other words, Copper Falls was a much better value. Finally, Edoardo's is the first restaurant I have reviewed that has Tripadvisor's email address on the back of its business card with the waiter soliciting reviews. I do not find anything particularly wrong with that but it may explain the great number of excellent reviews for the restaurant. Do visit here for a very satisfying if generic style Italian meal served by very efficient and friendly people.
