“A Great Adventure!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 12, 2013

We loved Gilbert! He's an authentic third generation Caymanian, and a very knowledgable and entertaining tour guide. The most exciting and unexpected part of our tour was visiting a secluded beach known as Starfish Point, where we held several magnificent, deep orange starfish. The clear Carribean water provided a scene we will always remember. We were also mezmerized by the cave tour - live bats included! An extra perk was having lunch with Gilbert, as his guests, at a restaurant overlooking the sea. Very relaxing. All-in-all, the tour exceeded our expectations. But be prepared to pay for the tour rental car, which was not explained to us in advance at the tour orientation.

“Thanks for the tour”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 3, 2013

We had a great tour with Gilbert. His knowledge of the Island keeps the tour interesting and relevant. And his humorous delivery keeps things moving along for both young and old alike. We had toured with Gilbert on our last visit to the island and so we did a very different tour this time. Sure, you could see the island by yourself, but you wouldn’t pick up on nearly as many facts and background details that Gilbert provides. Actually enjoyed the lunch provided as it was a sampling of things we probably wouldn’t have tried otherwise; part of the local experience we were looking for.

“Everything we hoped for and some things we never thought of.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 31, 2013

We had a great tour with Gilbert. We asked for him to customize our tour by adding the Botanic Gardens and we're glad we did. We got way more from the gardens with Gilbert. We never would have even noticed some of the things he pointed out and certainly would not have learned as much without him. The snorkeling site he took us to was great. Lunch was good with a fabulous view. The hike was fun. Watching our kids play on the beach with the sun setting behind them after a full day was very nice. The best part was the knowledge of Grand Cayman that Gilbert shared. He is a wealth of information about the island, it's history and flora and fauna.

If you are considering this tour, you'll need to car. We were surprised by this, but Gilbert helped set up a rental. You'll be following him as as he rides his motorcycle from location to location. Driving on the island is fairly easy, even for those of us used to driving on the other side of the road. Follow his advice on what to bring, including water, a change of clothes and a refreshing beverage for the end of the day. You'll be glad you did.

“Awesome Island Adventure Perfect for Families”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 30, 2013

The best money we spent on our trip to Grand Cayman was this tour with Gilbert. We learned amazing details about the history and natural resources on the island while visiting different locales. We ended up booking a private tour with Gilbert for a day that started around 10:30 am and ended around 7:30 pm. We rented a car and followed Gilbert on his motorcycle around the island. Because we are that kind of family, we each took a turn riding on the motorcycle. We went to beautiful places around the entire island that made for some great backdrops for memorable pictures and videos. The day ended with the watching sun set on a private beach that can't be beat.

If you are looking for a day full of adventure for your family or as a couple, spend time speaking with Gilbert about his standard tour and how he can customize a tour for you. It's worth the money and time to get off the beaten path with an expert like Gilbert.

“Awesome Day with Gil”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 31, 2013

JoeTourist (i.e. Gil) is a funny guy that knows a tremendous amount about Grand Cayman and also about the region in general. His journalistic experience locally enabled us to ask many questions and learn a lot. Gil's tour was very fun. We did a custom tour with Snorkelling, saw many parts of the island and really enjoyed the authentic lunch including our first try at turtle (which was very good and didn't taste like chicken). I would definitely recommend this for anyone who wants to have fun and learn about your surroundings at the same time.
