I had only a short time to see anything and I went to the Butterfly Farm. I had it almost to myself and sat still on a wooden chair under a tree while I waited for my individual tour. It was quite magical and I felt at peace, listening to the music, with an array of various beautiful butterflies flitting and landing around me. The tour was interesting too. I thought I knew about butterflies, but I learned a lot that was new to me. I met three members of staff and all were friendly and interesting. I recommend it highly, although it may not be as good when there are lots of people.

On our trip from the dock to our stingray tour, we saw a sign advertising the Butterfly Farm. We later went as an unplanned stop. It was a bit pricey (~$10 per person) for the 20 minutes we had left. I would have spent much more time if I had not had to catch the cruise ship! The tour gave a LOT of information about the butterfly life cycle that I did not know (and I even plant flowers specifically for butterflies at home). There was some hands-on learning that was fascinating. You can also just walk around on your own looking at the many species flying around and the tropical flowers. Shirts, jewelry, trinkets available for purchase as well. their website: [--]

We visited the Butterfly Farm as part of a shore excursion through Norwegian Cruise Lines. After the throngs of people jamming the narrow streets of George Town (there were 6 cruise ships in port the day we were there, and another guide said that was not uncommon), sitting amongst colorful butterflies and gorgeous flowers was a wonderful respite. Our guide was extremely informative, and the butterflies were even helpful as they lighted on your arm or hat. Most amazing of all: our guide told us that the sanctuary had been completely destroyed by Hurricane Ivan in 2004, and that they had to rebuild from scratch.

We liked the butterflly farm. You see butterflies from around the world. They give a short, informative tour and demonstration. Soft music plays in the background. There are benches for you to sit on and even a small goldfish pond. Also they have free water from a cooler, which was very nice of them.

We took the butterfly farm express excursion while on a Royal Caribbean cruise. We had maybe 6 people in our group so we had the whole place to ourselves until towards the end when a very large group showed up.

The small souvenirs they sold were very neat. If you collect fridge magnets, they had a good collection. As you have guessed, all the souvenirs feature butterflies.

The one thing that was annoying was the construction work going on a nearby site. Of course, that is not their fault.

My husband toured a butterfly farm in Arizona, which was half the size of this one. The one in Arizona was air-conditioned, which he thought was weird. The butterflies did not fly as much. Here the butterflies flutter everywhere so you will have fun trying to catch them on your camera. Take lots of pictures!

WOw, I just got back from the Cayman Islands and I have to say: The Butterfly Farm was BY FAR the best part of my trip! The tour was informative and energetic - and their "butterfly farmers" were great fun and quite endearing. Unfortunatly I didn't get to go until the last day of my vacation - which was a shame, because I would have got a free pass for my whole vacation (had I gone at the beginging of my trip). Overall, the atmosphere was wonderfull! I was surprised to see a tourist attraction so full of passion and life - but the butterfly farm seems to be built on it!
