My wife and I just returned from a wonderful week at the TNI. I can't say enough good things about the inn. I loved the fact that the inn was in the "boonies" as a previous poster complained about. The last thing we wanted was the tourist trap mecca of 7 mile beach. What we got was peace and tranquillity . My wife and I walked around the town in the evening and felt perfectly safe. If you want to feel like you never left suburban America, stay over at the mega resorts on 7 Mile beach.
We were in Apartment # 4, in the actual Turtle Nest Inn. Right on the first floor, ocean front, clean, comfortable, and just steps from the pool and ocean. It was the perfect spot. We used the kitchen for breakfast and lunch, splurging on dinner at nearby restaurants.
We asked for, and recieved an extra set of bath towels every day. If we wanted clean beach towels, we just placed them on the floor of the bathroom, and voila!, clean beach towels would appear after the morning cleaning. New clean sheets on the bed every other day. (I'm sure if we asked, we could have had them every day!!!)
Although entry to the ocean can be a little tricky due to the rocks right along the shore, once you get out 4-6 feet, it gets much smoother, and the snorkling along the reef was top notch.
Do not miss the Thursday dinner at the Inn if they have it while you are there. Top notch food, great service, and we left STUFFED!!!
The staff at the inn could not have been nicer or more friendly, including the pets. The owners were always on property (they live there) and were available for any reason at any time, all you had to do was ask.
We felt the location was perfect, a short drive to Georgetown and 7 mile beach, or a short drive to the east end (much more rural).
We could go on and on about all the positives. The one negative....we had to leave.
