“Great place to stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 days ago NEW

The hotel is out of the way. The staff was top notch. Grand daughter had her 3rd birthday and staff brought her a balloon. Suite was great and pool was good. Front desk staff great. Shuttle to 7 miles
Beach came when it said it would and this made easy to go there.

At the end of May we booked into this hotel for 4 nights as a cost effective way to extend our holiday before checking into the Ritz Carlton for 6 nights on my company reward trip.
We knew it wasn't on 7 mile beach but were swayed by the prices. It was fantastic! Check in was quick and easy, room lovely, clean and contemporara. the resort was pretty quiet (end of May ) the staff made such a fuss of our 2 daughters, climbing trees to get coconuts for them and mixing up cocktails at the bar, they loved it. We used the shuttle every day, they were happy to take us where we needed to go and often waited for us, we saved a fortune in taxi fares. We spent a lot of time in the pool and most nights there was live music in the bar. The on site restaurant was great, and the food was good and well priced. Kids also eat free with paying adults. I would thoroughly recommend this hotel to anyone who wants something a little more laid back and away from the chaos and expense of 7 mile beach, we will definitely return!

Although this place is off the beaten path (Seven-Mile Beach), it was well worth the drive. The hotel was renovated within the last year and was a great place to stay. The restaurant onsite was ok, but would highly recommend upgrading to a suite with a full kitchen (fridge, stove, oven, dishes, dishwasher, washer/dryer) and going to the grocery store. The "beach" is not the best, but it was clean and well equipped. You can rent jet ski's or kayaks from the hotel and save on going with an outside vendor. If you choose not to rent a car, the shuttle will take you to Seven-Mile Beach. However, the cab fare from the airport is $30. Renting a car is a great option, especially if you plan to tour the island and is fairly reasonable based on what you would spend on taxi or bus fares. I would highly recommend Andy's car rentals. We rented a Jeep and it was great! The hotel has a large pool and a pier that you can swim off of. There is a lot of sea grass on this side of the island and you will have to go out pretty far for snorkeling views. The hotel is extremely quiet and if you are looking to get away without all the "nightlife", this is a great option. The hotel was fair priced for the island and has a small dive shop onsite for help with diving/snorkeling questions or for small purchases.

Room Tip: If possible, upgrade to a suite. Although one side faces the remaining construction equipment, you s...

This is a great value for the type of independent vacationer who will research and plan your own activities, rent a car, and then spend most of your time away from the hotel enjoying what Grand Cayman has to offer -- but who also wants the convenience of a full-service hotel and restaurant -- a nice place to relax in the evenings and have dinner and breakfast served to you, if you choose. Built as a time-share enterprise ("The Grand Caymanian"), you can get a nice, clean, fully equipped apartment (classified a "suite") with a living room with dining area, bedroom, balcony or patio, kitchen, and washer-dryer for less (perhaps much less) than you'd pay for a standard hotel room on nearby 7-mile Beach. But it's not what many think of as a real "resort" with a whole lot to do right there. For example, it's too rocky to walk into the Bay from the "beach" or swim close to it. So, it's not for everyone. But, again, for those who are going to be out and about most of the time, check it out.

Room Tip: To get a decent view of the Bay, get a room on the inside of the "V" -- as close to the wa...

Being owners of the resort, this was our 6th visit since 2000. It is just how we remembered it 4 years ago but with some excellent upgrades. The reception was totally renovated for the better, bar area, beach area, gardens.... Some reviews mention a musty smell, that has been there since 2000, its not musty by all means. The staff were as friendly as always. The timeshare rooms are in need of an update, carpets need changing and showers need changing. Don't get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with them, they are just old! Compared to the hotel side, they are beginning to look shabby, but this DID NOT make any difference to our experience here.

The tennis courts have been let go a little since our last trip. We borrowed a friends car whilst there and to clean the sand, they even offered us the shop vac and cleaning supplies without asking.

Didn't eat at the restaurant as we liked to sample the local eateries.

The "new" beach is better. Ever since we've been going, they've tried to make it a beach without much success but as long as you do your research, don't expect a 7 mile beach beach. What they have is great, lovely large pier, hammocks, lots of beds and chairs on the beach and new beds around the pool.

This resort is not on the 7 mile beach so not sure why some reviews say its out of the way, remote and you need a car? Thats what trip advisor is all about. Its quiet this time of year 24-8 July at 20% full and just perfect for us.

Can assure you of a wonderful stay, trust me.

Room Tip: nearer to the pool or beach if possible so you don't hear the restaurants fans. Lower ground ro...

This was the perfect place to unwind and relax. My husband and I stay for 3 nights and had dinner at the resort, the Blue Iguana Grill. The chef's special was a wonderful seasoned tuna and fresh vegetables. We had the coconut shrimp and the conch - stay with the shrimp as the conch is too breaded.

We had lunch poolside and loved the convenience of have good food while taking advantage of our relaxing time. Sat. night there was a trio band performing in the lounge for a nightcap after we returned from our sunset dinner.

Just enough tradewinds off the North Sound to keep us cool as this time of year is extremely warm.

Loved our 1 bedroom suite - had kitchen for our morning breakfast and late night snacks.

The best thing about this resort is the friendly staff. They went out of their way to welcome us, made dinner reservations, helped with activity ideas. Overall great experience and will be back.

Room Tip: The beach is rocky not sandy - must have aqua socks on to swim in water. Loved the dock to sit and...

My family was "placed" at the Holiday Inn Resort by United Airlines due to a mechanical failure that forced us to spend an extra 2 days on Grand Cayman.
This could have been a disaster, however, the management and staff at the Holiday Inn Resort treated us like royalty!

The front desk team (we had to interact with both day and night shifts) were incredibly friendly and helpful. They made our stay stress free. The hotel kept the restaurant open late for us the first night and fed us a wonderful buffet in exchange for the meager food voucher provided by United. The food was fresh, hot and tasty. This experience was repeated for breakfast, lunch and dinner for the duration of our stay. The hotel easily could have forced us to use their regular restaurant service, but chose to accept the vouchers as full payment. I was truly amazed and am very appreciative.
Based on how we were treated by the rest of the Holiday Inn's staff, I would have to say that customer service is their number 1 priority! While maybe not the fanciest hotel I have ever stayed at, the rooms were clean and comfortable. Maid service was prompt and efficient. The rooms were furnished well and the beds are very comfortable. While there is not a beach view, the ocean view is still spectacular!
This hotel is absolutely fantastic!

Room Tip: The 2 bedroom suite is fantastic and price wise, compared to other Cayman hotels, an absolute steal...
