There isn’t much to Hell, except to say that if you have an interest in geology, it can have a fascination all its own. The quarter-acre limestone formation is black, extremely rugged (you wouldn’t dare attempt to traverse it) and utterly lifeless. It isn't a "must see" destination, but if you are in the area it is worth a brief stop.

We recently visited the Grand Cayman and did indeed visit Hell. Not just once but twice. What we found was there was an abundance of life amongst the rocks. Not only lots of iguanas and anolis (they appear to enjoy the sun and rarely moved) were located there but an abundance of bird life. We manage to take pictures of a blue-winged teals, moorhens, black-head stilt, green herons and little blue herons. Many Passeriformes types of birds. Each day revealed different birds. If you enjoy birding then don't miss this spot on the island. We did see wild Cayman Parrots in this vicinity as well as Frigatebirds in the skies above.

We stopped at Hell (and the gift shop that is painted entirely red) on our way to another excursion from the Disney Magic cruise ship. As Chirstians we were kind of leary what it would be like in the gift shop and the "jokes" to be told. To our surprise the first thing we saw when driving in the parking lot is a sign painted on the shop "Jesus died for you and me so we could go to heaven"!! There were a couple of comments like "How the hell are you" and "Let's get the hell out of here" by the van driver, but it really was said in a way that it did not offend anyone or bother us that our kids were with us.

Our 10 year old sent a postcard to herself (with the "Jesus..." quote on it) so it would be postmarked "Hell".

OK stop- not a "destination"

For a known tourist trap, we loved it. Our guide was amazing, and we all had a good time. So the shop was small...we still brought home souveneirs. Go into it with an open and funloving mind, and you too will enjoy it!

two good things about this place i was there on a business trip so at least i can say " I have been to Hell & Back for my company" the other is that if you save your postcards to send home they will have a Hell postmark on them.
however do not plan this as i day trip as there are only a couple of gift shops (literally 2) however the black coral rock formation is worth a loo at for a minute or two after all there are not a lot of palces where you are going to see Black Coral without getting wet in its natural habitat, naturally with a name like Hell you can only expect them to cash in wearing the devils outfit saying ok who the Hells next, worth popping into for a few minutes if you are passing
