“A high point of our cruise vacation!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 3, 2009

Kudos and many thanks to Stingray Sailing for the great afternoon my family and I spent with them on June 3 for the tour. It was an absolute blast and definitely one of the high points of our cruise vacation. I was honestly a little hesitant to book a tour apart from the cruise line, but the friendly folks at Stingray Sailing took care of all the details and made it easy—and saved us money in the process. Everyone was very polite, helpful, and engaging all the way from my initial email contact (below) right through being dropped off on-time at the cruise terminal after our tour was complete. We were able to enjoy the day’s activities as a family and build memories that will last a lifetime!

“Great Day Trip”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 3, 2009

We hadn't booked any excursions before we went to Grand Cayman, and booked this trip to Sting Ray city when we arrived based on reviews from Trip Advisor. Michelle was able to take our reservation over the phone on Saturday and we were able to squeeze on with some cruise passengers on the Monday sailing. We were picked up at the Westin at 8:30 am and only had about a 5 minute drive from the hotel to the dock. We shared the boat with about 15 other people, all from the cruise, and had plenty of room. Chip and Mark were both very personable and took the time to talk to everybody on board to ensure we were enjoying the trip/the island and fill us in on the sting rays. We were one of the first boats to arrive out at the sand bar, and there were never less than 10 sting rays circling and they were HUGE! We each had the opportunity to hold them if we wanted and feed them as well. We stayed ~45 minutes, and then went out to the reef to snorkel. The water is very clear and easy to see a variety of fish, and Chip fed an eel which was pretty impressive to see. We stayed there ~45 minutes as well, and sailed back in. There was free water and pop/beer available for sale, as well as free fresh fruit. This was well worth the money, one of the most affordable things we did on Grand Cayman @$45 US pp. We then had Chip drop us off in GeorgeTown with the cruise passengers so we could walk around and have lunch, and then we were able to catch a cab easliy back to the Westin. We would recommend this company to anyone interested in swimming with the Sting Rays!

“The BEST BEST BEST thing to do on the island!!!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 1, 2009

Stingray sailing was the highlight of our Carnival cruise. We were a little apprehensive of doing the stingray tours because we didn't want to be crammed into a boat and go to a zoo like location that was way too commercialized. After reading the reviews we booked out trip with Stingray Sailing. There were 12 passengers plus 2 crew and 1 photographer on the 44' catamaran sailing boat. The crew was wonderful! There was enough room to lay out on the trampoline or stretch anywhere on the boat. As we arrived at the Stingray Bay, we saw many other boats were 30+ people poured off of an even smaller boat. At one time there was 5 or more stingrays in a 15' perimeter.

The stingray expedience was amazing. These wild stingrays hangout on the sand bar awaiting like puppies for tourists to come and feed them. Our crew caught a smaller stingray for us to be able to pet and hold and take pictures with. Our boat brought more than enough squid so everyone could feed the stingrays multiple times.

After Stingray Bay we snorkeled along the reef. Our captain showed up a Morey Eel's tail. Then we sailed back into the harbor.

“Stingraysailing.com -- Excellent!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 30, 2009

We sailed with Stingraysailing.com in June 2009. This 'independent' excursion was excellent and more affordable than the ones available through our cruise on Royal Caribbean. The mini-bus ride to/from their boat was air-conditioned and not too far. Chip, Mark and Stuart were very personable and professional. The Stingray City and Snorkeling experience may be similar to the other groups, but the unpowered catamaran sailing on the return trip was very special. This was the best snorkeling we've had in the Caribbean because the water was clear and shallow with lots of reef and fish to see. Chip was able to coax an eel out from under a rock and it hung out for a while under the boat. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Grand Cayman.

“Stingray Sailing (Chip & Michelle Whitney)”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 25, 2009

My family of 8 (4 adults, 13 yo, 9 yo, 6 yo, and 2yo) took this excursion on June 16, 2009. Our tour was a bit delayed, but for a good reason. Another tour operator's boat motor stopped working, so Chip volunteered to load ALL the passengers from that boat and take them back to the marina along with his passengers. I'm sure some of Chip's passengers may not have been happy with the overcrowding on the return trip, but he was being a good Samaritan. Michelle drove us around the island while we waited for Chip to return. We were lucky in that our family had the entire boat to ourselves. Chip and Captain Bert were great--we had an awesome time in Grand Cayman!
