“Great Food, Excellent Service!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 17, 2009

I read the reviews and I am happy that I wasn't distracted from going. One of the best settings on Grand Cayman as it is right on the beach. I order the fillet mignon and enjoyed my dinner watching the sunset - omg! What a treat. Also dinning in the Wharf is very cool because they feed these huge fishes called Tarpons. You have to watch that to believe it! Awesome place, awesome food, awesome experience!

“Fantastic Food and Family Fun”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 14, 2009

We had our best dining experience in Cayman at The Wharf Restaurant. My husband and I were able to enjoy a wonderful meal and the kids menu satisfied even my very picky 2 year old with a generous helping of spaghetti which she very nearly finished. The fish feeding was also huge hit with the kids. Fantastic food, friendly service and a most breathtaking ocean view. We will go back to the Wharf every time we are in Cayman, with or without the kids!

“Best Dinner we had on Grand Cayman”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 5, 2009

My husband and I had a very romantic dinner at the Wharf. My husband wanted to try the turtle steak but did not want to order for his dinner in case he didn't like it. The waiter offered to make an appetizer portion for him so he could try it.. He ended up liking the turtle steak very much. I had pumpkin soup which was a special that night and it was great. I also had the salmon which was perfectly cooked and absolutely delicious. My husband was very happy with the filet had as well. Our waiter was from Austria and was wonderful - very attentive, friendly and offered suggestions when we asked. We were at this restaurant 12 or 13 years ago when we stayed on seven mile beach and it was great then too. We were there when they fed the tarpon and they had given us a table right by where they feed them and that was fun to watch. The let dome of the diners feed them too and some o the kids were having a great time. The restaurant was very expensive but we knew that going in. I will go to the Wharf again on our next visit to the Cayman Islands.

“Why you should not go to The Wharf”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed August 18, 2009

Fellow travelers,
The Wharf was recommended to me by a friend, who said I should go and order the turtle steak, a local delicacy. I took my girlfriend. Here is what we found at The Wharf. The location was romantic. The staff was friendly if slow. The food was medicore, like a Red Lobster. And the prices were exorbitant: Over two hundred dollars, with only a meal and two drinks between us.
I have never in my life paid so much for such lousy food. My girlfriend had the sea bass, which was overcooked. I had the turtle steak, which was a big mistake. It had unusual flavor but was tough and gristly, like a minute steak with eggs at a Friendly's. The price: Over $30 in U.S. dollars. The only bright spot was the conch chowder, which was quite good.
Do not go to this place. For the price, you are much better off at one of the resort restaurants, such as Prime at the Ritz-Carlton.
