We typically go to Hawaii every year but the 5-9 hour flights are getting harder and harder to endure. We discovered Grand Cayman and it offers wonderful beaches, food, shopping and most important...peace and quiet. The best thing is that is ISN'T a long flight like Hawaii. Plus you get a little "continential" flare since the currency is different, you drive on the wrong side of the road, etc. Cayman style fish at the Cracked Conch is the BEST meal I've ever had! The 7 mile beach is easy to walk on (or jog), the water is clear and warm (another difference from Hawaii where the ocean can be quite cold). Grand Cayman is probably the best vacation destination that we're very been to.
