We spent 5 days here as part of our 20th anniversary trip. The first part we stayed in St John in a condo doing our own thing, then we wanted 5 days with more service.
We stayed in unit 46, which was a 1 bedroom beach cottage. It had two patios and you walked down a little path and there was a beach set up - chairs, shade, steps from the beach. It was exquisite. Lots of sea turtles right there in the water that we enjoyed watching surface.
This is the happiest bunch of employees I've ever seen at any resort. We spent one day at the spa which was beautiful, nice service, gorgeous views from the pool and treatment room.
The resort is very spread out. Lots of walking which was fine for us, but some may have difficulty. I never even saw the pool, it was on the opposite side of us and we just didn't make it there.
We did the full american plan as going during the low season very few restaurants were open. The food was excellent, the service excellent, but next time I think I'd just pay as we went, we in no way ate the amount we paid everyday - $300/day plus drinks. There was something good for dinner every night and I never got tired of the breakfast buffet. The dress code seems a bit outdated, especially if there is no a/c.
They serviced the heck out of us which almost got a little annoying. They changed ice 3 times a day, housekeeping was in 2 times a day, plus any other thing that was happening, in they'd walk. We'd have someone in there up to 7 times one day. Housekeeping was wonderful, they put flowers on the bed, they'd pull all the blinds, etc. They even had really nice candles to use.
The beach drop was fantastic. One day we went to Savannah Beach, the other to Mountain Trunk - the second had the best snorkeling. One day we had them pack us a lunch which was really nice. I just wish there were chairs to use to sit on the beach.
I'll be honest here - I didn't like not having a tv. Why are they trying to control what I do in our room? And only 1 device for free wi-fi. Considering the price of the resort, and their lack of other entertainment, that's surprising to me.
There is not anything to do at night, and it's very dark, and there is no tv in the room.
The last night our a/c went out about midnight. It was hot and humid all night and a miserable night. We called a couple of times but ended up having to go to the front desk before breakfast to ask to have it fixed. They ended up discounting the room 50% for that night. They did get it fixed eventually so I didn't have to get ready to leave in the heat and humidity.
I'm not so sure I would return, but it was a very relaxing time.
