We ate at this restaurant during the low season. We read great reviews on TripAdvisor and decided to try it. When we went to other restaurants on the island, we saw a number of other couples and families while there. However, when we ate at Chez Bamboo, only one other couple came in while we were there (approx. 8pm). It’s a large restaurant and it felt very lonely. Oddly, it took a long time to get served even though a number of staff members stood near the entrance. My husband had a wrapped fish dish and did not like it. I had a grilled shrimp dish and it was pretty basic grilled shrimp without too much flavor. The chocolate mousse dessert was fine. Unfortunately, when we went back to where we were staying, my husband became extremely ill (vomited). This was the only time he was sick while we were on vacation. We told our guide about our experience because we planned to call the restaurant. However, our guide strongly advised us not to call. So, we did not do so. We just did not return.
