I's read a lot about the Bitter End so I was looking forward to mooring there for a couple of night while we were on a charter boat trip. But I was very disappointed.
We ate lunch at the grill restaurant. We realised that we were a bit late, at 13:50, but were told that this wasn't a problem. We choose to have the option of choosing any of the al la carte course together with the salad and desert buffet. We ordered crab cakes (which were acceptable, but not nearly as good to the ones you get in Maryland). The salad buffet was adequate, but no more than that. But the real problem is that shortly after 14:00 we were told the buffet was closing. This was very unrelaxing and left us feeling misinformed.
Elsewhere the resort has a rather plastic feel. There was a good selection of dinghies for the use of hotel guests, but this would not tempt me to go back as you have to sail through a field of moored boats before you get open water. The provisioning store was very limited and the advertised chandelers doesn't seem to exist.
Maybe if I hadn't expected so much I would have liked it more.
