“We loved, loved, loved Pusser's”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 26, 2009

We visited Pusser's Restaurant/Pub 5 out of the 8 nights we were in Tortola. The Road Town location was within a 10 minute walk from our Hotel (Hotel Castle Maria). We went to Pusser's several nights for drinks and/or dinner. Pusser’s has SEVERAL specials that are every day, daily, and nightly, as well as Hapy Hour specials. One of the specials is a “Painkiller Shooter” – for $4.99 you get the shot and keep the shot glass…great! They also have special “tin-cups” which you save $3.00 on the cup if you order your drink in it...great! Wednesday night was $2.00 delicious martinis (which costs less than a bottled water!) .

The food was good, too. On various nights, we had the Mahi Mahi sandwhich (twice), Shepard’s Pie, homemade pizza’s, and conch soup – All which were very good and would recommend a stop at Pusser’s. At the west end or east end Pusser’s they also offer a “Surf and Turf” on Sunday – Thursday night. We were in West End on a Thursday night, so we went to Pusser’s for Surf and Turf. The Surf and Turf special included a (very small) salad, bread, a small steak, a small lobster tail, baked potato and cheesecake for $19.95, I thought it was alright for the price.

We visited the store during the daytime and they have a GREAT variety of items, including mini-kits for "take-home" painkillers.

P.S. – Give Josselyn a BIG TIP ~ she’s great!!!

“No More Pusser's Rum Tasting”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 15, 2008

Pusser's store located on the main road in Road Town used to have varieties of rum available for tasting. After a long hike from the ship, we were disappointed to learn that tasting was no longer offered. Their rum is good, if you're used to strong rum!
The store has many Pusser souvenirs with pirate themes and the Pusser logo. A little pricey for a T shirt or hat, but worth it to say, "I've been there!"
The bar/restaurant seems to attract quite a few people.
The Caribee HerbShoppe is also pricey for spices, but worth the visit for the marvelous odors! Buying spices stateside is cheaper, but not nearly as much fun. Remember, the $$$ is in trouble right now, you'll be paying for souvenirs on their exchange rate making items even more expensive.
The open air bus tour is a "trip" more ways than one. I personally loved the bumpy ride, but others didn't. If you're lucky enough to get a knowlegeable AND fun driver, the trip is worth the $15 to $25 per person...depending on the ships in port. Previously, Tortolla only allowed two ships a couple of times a week. Don't know what their rules are now. We were in port with a GIANT ship that dumped a couple thousand people in port. Getting a tour was NOT easy unless you'd booked a ship excursion. As a previous day tripper, I hadn't planned ahead for a tour. I was off the ship late and the early tours were just returning. We were lucky enough to get a ride on the open air bus. It was a little different from my first tour, but still fun. I highly recommend the tour for first time visitors. It gives a terrific overview of the island and views of other islands from the overlook at the high point of the island. The restroom at the overlook was marginal...a hint!

“best painkillers on Tortola”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 25, 2006

We had a very good lunch here and they made the best (and strongest) painkillers on the island. Definitely worth stopping by. Nice atmosphere, good food and strong drinks. They also had a nice gift shop too.
