When we told our concierge at Frenchmans that we were going to try Charlie T's the response was 'ohhhhh. Let me know how that is'. We should have known :) My husband and I drove from the West End all the way out here-it was at least a 45 minute drive each way. When we arrived the restaurant was empty and the wait staff were arguing about who was going to have to serve us. After waiting for about 20 minutes one of the waitresses showed up to take our drink order. She was pleasant enough and the view was pretty great right on the water. The problem with Charlie T's is that it just isn't that great. We asked if we could get a soda in a can and the waitress explained that they use 12 liter bottles to fill a glass (!). Nix that. I ordered the lobster which ended up being two pounds-$48!-it wasn't great. It was big, but overcooked. Even the butter tasted odd, I think they might have just put some canola oil in a cup and called it butter. This is not the place to go for a great meal and you can't even get out of there for a decent price. All in all it's just not that great. The view is nice however on the water near a marsh with views of egrets and herons. Other than that, there isn't much else to like.
