We arrived in Tortola on April 19, 2012. It was our first time visiting the island and we didn’t know what to expect. Upon arrival at our hotel, we checked in and got settled. It was early afternoon so we went to the front desk to get tourist information for planning our activities. There was very little literature and the ladies at the front desk although very pleasant did not seem to be too familiar with the area. We got very lucky, a taxi driver was at the front desk. His name was Bob. Bob dropped us off at C&F Bar & Restaurant and said he was off duty and would send Sam from bvi360 to pick us up. Once we met Sam, we relied on him for everything. Sam is a wonderful person with a great attitude. He’s very professional and always on time. Sam is from the island so he knows every place and everything there is to know about it. I highly recommend you contact bvi360 either before your arrival or shortly after. Pick up & drop off is at your hotel, and all of the Taxi drivers are courteous and good drivers. They will take you anywhere you want to go but bvi360 is the only way to get all you can out of your vacation. Bvi360 will customize their services to meet any and all of your needs. For more information on bvi360, check out Facebook/bvi360. On our second day, we booked a 3 hour private tour with Sam. It was amazing. The island is so clean & beautiful. On our tour we browsed around in Sopher’s Hole & Cane Garden Bay Beach, took the short tour at Callwood Distillery, stopped for drinks at a local shack and many more stops to take photos. Our third day, Sam took us to Cane Garden Bay Beach. We had a wonderful day. The beach is gorgeous and has lots of chaise loungers for you to use, all you need to bring is a towel and lots of sunscreen. The restaurants, Myett’s & Stanley’s have great food at a reasonable price. Inside the Myett’s restaurant is a nice gift shop. Myett’s is a hotel located right on the beach. Just tell Sam what time to pick you up and he will be there, I suggest staying for the sunset (around 7pm). It’s magical. For a small island it has a lot to offer.
Note: Make sure you tell the front desk person that you have already made arrangements with Sam, as they sometimes just call a taxi and not bvi360.
