“Great view with history”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 27, 2014

The lunch was included with our Break Away day charter. The weather was beautiful with a million dollar view. We had already pre-ordered in the morning and our crew helped with serving so I can't comment on the service. It appeared fine. The food was pretty good with large portions. If I had another opportunity I would diffidently stop.

The hotel staff were not the friendliest however there is no bad room at this hotel. The views are stunning and the private beach is quintessential. I would go back a million times. This place isn't for those on a budget though. Getting anywhere costs good money and the food is a bit pricey. Staying here includes breakfast. Hydrate and drink all the water you can at breakfast because it isn't included for all other meals.

We have visited Marina Cay on multiple occasions. We always go while cruising the islands and we find their hospitality and service oriented attitude an incentive to return whenever we go that way.
The hotel has basic accomodations, but the views and the Caribbean breeze allow you to be part of the true Caribbean experience. The food at the restaurant is of consistent quality, the ladies at the store and the gentlemen at the dock always remember us and welcome us with a smile.

We stayed here for a few nights in one of their villas. Great old world Caribbean, beds were great, views fantastic and place was clean.
Happy hour at the top with Jeremiah and Geoff was highlight of the day! They were awesome and put on great live music!!

We were bareboating, spent the night at the anchorage, went ashore to the tiny cay. The store is well stocked, the ice is inexpensive, many services available, the little bar at the top of the hill had "live music" from a pair of 20-somethings musician who thought they were really cool, bragged about their hangovers, played MUCH too loud, drove everybody down below to the delightful beach front restaurant with delicious food, efficient service and warm ocean breezes. This would have been a 5-star review were it not for the god-awful loud "band." Try a PainKiller - don't ask what's in it, just get one and thank me later.

We have been going to the BVI's for 7 years now, and have always stopped at Marina Cay for water, and a good mooring ball. But , nothing on the island was appealing after seeing it all once. The staff at the store are nice enough, and the restaurant is the poster child of island time.
In late December we stopped on the way to the Bitter End, and we heard music coming from above. So , we went ashore, and followed the music only to find a bar on the top of the island ( 7 years, and we had never seen a sole there ) and a two man band playing great music. Geoff and Jeremiah put on a great show and had a great time interacting with all of the visitors. By the end of their show, there were no seats to be had, and they lead everyone down to the restaurant like the pied piper.
Needless to say, we came back to listen to the music several more time during our trip, thus making Marina Cay a destination in our book now, not just a stop.
I believe they will be playing until June 2014 , so if you are going to the BVI's, make sure you stop, you will have a blast. The completely turned that island around.

Room Tip: We visited on our own boat, so we can not say much about the hotel

The Captain of our boat told us the story of this island but it is also in a frame on the wall. There is frame of various rope knots too. Our group of 9 came here for dinner only. It was raining and dark, so other than getting a Geocache, there wasn't much exploration of the grounds. You can order any drink in a souvenir Pain killer mug. Less expensive when ordered with a drink than if you pay for it empty at the gift store. Our group of nine had a variety of entrees off the menu and were happy, though I didn't think the drinks or the food were anything special. Service was great, atmosphere was great, a good place for dinner.
