We ate twice a Le Tastevin as we were fondly remembering our first time there 18 years earlier. Our first meal consisted of Champagne, salads and lobster for each. I will say that I do not find Caribbean lobsters to be as flavorful as Maine lobsters so I cannot recommend them. They are also very expensive and there are other seafood items that are very nice for far less money. We ordered a French wine and when it was delivered to the table, it was not the same year as advertised. They returned saying that they did not have the year noted on the wine list. We ordered a chocolate domed with coconut interior desert. it was terrible and we could not finish it. Our second evening we started with martinis (they know how to make them), french onion soup (excellent) and foie gras (melt in your mouth exceptional); main consisted of sole meuniere (okay) and mahi-mahi with lemon grass (exceptional). Dessert was Profiteroles and Hennessy. Service also was exceptional both nights. The ambiance is great as the restaurant is built over the sand, so the ocean waves lap under the balcony. Most tables have a great view and both nights we were seated ocean front. We had requested a specific table for our second evening which was honored. Although, our first meal was not what we wished for, the service, ambiance and second diner made our visit a truly enjoyable experience.
