“property that receives lots of repeat customers”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 11, 2013

I have been to St Maarten five separate times and stayed at five different properties on both the French and the Dutch side of the island. Although this property is not the newest property, it is well maintained, has a very helpful and friendly staff, and every room has a refrigerator and microwave oven. You may only want these features for your drinks and snacks as the hotel has quality food; and the town of Grand Case has more gourmet French restaurants than you could imagine. The beach is nice where you can meet some terrific return visitors to Grand Case. I spoke to everyone on the beach, and all but one couple were repeat customers to Grand Case.

Fourth time to the island and first at GCBC, but it won't be the last.
Recently upgraded rooms were really fine, very comfortable and clean (spotless).
Very friendly staff and the the Sunset Restaurant has excellent food.

Several days I thought "I'll go across the island and do...what?, What's better than here?".
Then I'd go for a swim.

Thanks for a fantasic week.

Room Tip: Ocean view well worth the upgrade.

This was a fabulous stay at Grand Case Beach Club week of June 29th 2013. We rented a car from Leisure Car Rental http://www.leisurecarrentalsxm.com/ which met us at the airport when we arrived. Had our GPS with us preprogrammed for the hotel & sightseeing. Driving is on the right, but, can be a little tricky on some of the not so well paved roads; just pay attention & be aware the drivers here may make sudden turns, back into the street suddenly, & pedestrians will walk out in front of you casually to cross the road. Very easy to find hotel. Parking onsite is included. Check in was a breeze. Front desk staff were very friendly at check in & check out. We were on the 2nd floor rm109 & hauling luggage up the stairs was a task, but, was so worth the view waiting for us from our balcony. We had a great view of Grand Case harbor & restaurants along the waterfront. The room was spotless & ice cold air conditioning greeted us upon entry. There is a well appointed kitchenette. We visited the nearby Simply Marche to pickup beer, limes, Dutch cheese, ham, bread, & sodas. http://www.sxm-shopping.com/groceries.html Having a full size fridge w/freezer came in handy for our drinks & lunch supplies. The hotel provided complimentary breakfast of fresh baguettes, croissants, coffee, & juice each morning & this was a great way to start the day. We eat dinner at the Sunset Cafe on the property 1st night for convenience. The food is decent & there is a geat view of the sunset. There is a vast variety of dinner options to be had just a short walk into town. There is onsite security on the property & just outside the property on the street every night. It is a gated property & we felt very safe. Great location for walking into town for dinner. We liked this location; Grand Case is away from the other side of the island where the busy cruise ship dock is located in Phillipsburg.
From the GCBC it is an easy drive to all the site seeing locations & beaches each day. There is also some fabulous snorkeling on site just steps away from the room. There are plenty of lounge chairs scattered throughout the property. Nice place to chill out in a chair with a cold beer & do absolutly nothing. The housekeeper did a absolutely wonderful job. We always came back after a day of seeing the island to a spotless room with fresh flowers. She always had a smile on her face & friendly greeting each day we saw her. See my other reviews for some of the activities & restaurants we visited & would reccomend such as the Butterfly Farm, SeaTrek, Capt Alan's Snorkel, Passaat Sunset Cruise, Sky's The Limit, Le Tastevin, & Sunset Beach Bar.
We would definitely recommend a stay at the GCBC! When we come back to St Martin we would stay here again.

15 nights at GCBC and not a bad day to be had. The building we stayed in had just been upgraded and was very nice,,,,but we never had any problems the way it was before! We stayed in an Oceanfront studio on the second floor. Everything worked and everything was clean but we don't go there for the room..we go for the pace and the people. There are no water slides and swim up bars here but 2 great ocean swimming areas and a small but refreshing swimming pool. The front desk folks are helpful with anything you may need and it never seems like you are bothering them. Can't remember passing a single staff member who didn't smile while passing. Makes you feel like you are spending your money in the right place. Good restaurant and car rental on premise is a real convenience. The General Manager is ...well...he is just good and my wife and I appreciate his efforts and availability We are already looking at the calendar for our next trip. Bishop

Room Tip: for a couple, the studio is plenty big enough.. first floor is very convenient..second floor is more...

Just completed my 25th visit to the island and probably my 18th visit to the GCBC. The staff has always been friendly and willing to meet your expectations. The rooms décor are fresh and maintained well by the housekeeping staff. the daily breakfast is a highlight and the morning staff is always eager to welcome you and offer suggestions for daily excursions. the hotel has done an amazing job with creating a tropical landscape paradise. The sunset café has an excellent chef and staff. Highly recommend the pan fried grouper. It is hard to believe that one place can have it all but this place does. Cannot wait until next year to return.

Room Tip: Any room. you are so close to the beach there is not a bad room.

This small resort was perfect for our vacation. It had nice, clean, updated rooms and they provided us a complementary bottle of wine when we checked in. The room had reliable, free WiFi, cable TV, a small kitchenette, and a king-sized bed. The housecleaning staff was very friendly. It was a short walk to the center of Grand Case where there were more than a dozen restaurants - and none of them disappointed! The on-premise Sunset Cafe had excellent food and service. We usually just had breakfast and a couple lunches there, not to mention some icy adult beverages. We were there at the end of June so it was the start of the off-season, which was fine because there weren't a lot of guests.
