Staying at the Grand Case Beach Club, places you within walking distance of the downtown area where the restaurants beckon. Excellent French cuisine was available at so many places; we would have needed two weeks and many meals per day to enjoy them all.
The Beach Club itself was wonderful. Facing a tranquil bay, there was one terrific sunset after another. The proprietors were very pleasant and easy to work with, very accommodating.
We stayed in a one bedroom loft unit and found that having the bed in the loft allowed us to stretch out a bit on those (infrequent) occasions where we wanted to watch television.
The studio kitchen provided just the right amount of space for a place where you won't want to cook too many meals.
The on-site restaurant, the Sunset Cafe is known on the island for its Chef and food, and here we were, just steps away! We also enjoyed the small but sincere continental breakfasts which were included, where we took the baguettes home to use for traveling sandwiches. We didn't get to eat dinner at the cafe, but the lunches (salads) were wonderful.
The beds are a bit hard, but supportive. The bathrooms are small but efficient and adequate hot water and towels were included.
There is a bit of an on-site library and I found a few good reading materials.
The on-site pool is a little chilly, (maybe because it is March), but clean & you can't beat the view, as it is actually above the restaurant.
Plenty of lounge chairs were available on two separate beaches and at the pool, as were various water toys, floats and noodles. Several day excursions for diving and sight seeing left from the Beach Club which made it easy to get around the island and bay.
We found so many folks who have been coming back for many years - that's a great sign that this is a great place that has been well maintained.
Enjoy!
