“I didn't have a blue martini....”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 10, 2009

The Blue Martini is one of those fantastic, modern, casual yet somehow kind of swanky, island restaurant/bars. The ambiance is really calm, with some options in terms of seating and activity.
It's open sky in the dining area which is beautiful. There are wooden structures around/over most tables from which fabric hangs to the floor and billows in the breeze. (breeze subject to change)
There is another seating area which faces the main road that is inside, but open air of course. There are comfortable chairs with small tables settled under ambient lighting.
Still another area is the bar itself. The bar is quite big, and runs along the side/back of the open sky dining area but doesn't intrude, even with the tv's that are behind the bar.
The Blue Martini hosts bands fairly often although not the night I was there.
The food was excellent, the cocktails generous and tasty and a little different. The service was incredibly gracious.
I will go back the next time I'm in St. Maarten for sure.

“A hidden gem.....”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2009

A hidden gem, it fools you to look at from the outside, but the inside is modern and good food and drink....We went there because it was the last stop on the "Celine Pub Crawl", which was amazing also. I wish we would have had the chance to go back but ran out of time.

“Decent prices but terrible service”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 13, 2009

We went here with a party of 19 people during low season. We went in and made the reservation with the owner a couple of days before, so it's not like he wasn't expecting us. Upon arrival, we found out that we only had one waiter for the entire party. Our first round of drinks took nearly 40 minutes to receive. The staff was nice and accomodating, but there wasn't enough of them. The worst part was that half of the party received their food, ate it and was finished for about 10 minutes before the other half of the table received their food. And then come to find out that another table of only 4 people received terrible service as well.

The good news is that the food that we did receive, although cold, was really yummy. Additionally, the prices are very reasonable and are a nice break from some of the other very expensive restaurants in Grand Case. I recommend going here for a drink at the bar to listen to the band and maybe get a burger or pizza, but that's about it.

“Great setting, fun food, lovely atmosphere”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 16, 2009

On our last evening in St. Martin we had a casual night and had dinner at the Blue Martini Bistro. It was a pleasant night in a setting that bordered on being magical. We sat outside under a thatch roof near the stage. The place has a Moroccan meets the Caribean feel. The music was certainly Middle Eastern with a clubby/jazzy blend. This was a nice change from the serious French restaurants that line the streets of Grand Case.

We all shared tapas and various pizzas. The crust was thin and crunch and the toppings were creative. Our drinks were festive cocktails.

A band was setting up as we were preparing to leave - so we missed the evening entertainment.

I would suggest the Blue Martini Bistro as a casual night out in Grand Case. :)
