My husband and I did the excursion in May 2013 while traveling on the Royal Caribbean’s Oasis. A van picked us up at the dock and we took a 25 minute drive or so to the dock. Decent drive along the way although the bus wasn't AC'd so it was pretty hot. When we got to the dock, we were given a brief orientation on how to drive the boats and how the tour was going to work. We were given a 12" mesh bag to bring any belongings we wanted (underwater camera, sunscreen, cash) We had brought our own waterproof bag because in other peoples reviews I had read that valuables and other belongings that you brought were left behind in bins until we returned so we just double bagged our stuff. Our stuff (towels, clothes) were left in bins back at the dock and they were put away somewhere but I didn't notice where, but nothing was missing when we got back. When we left the dock, one employee took your picture of you on the boat and you could purchase it for $15 and it comes with a hat and certificate. It took about 30-40 minutes to get to our snorkeling spot at Happy Bay and we were able to snorkel for about 30 minutes and feel free to swim to the beach. The snorkeling was just okay, nothing exciting and I didn't swim to the beach. It was a distance away but as long as you can swim you should be fine. Also, watch out for the nudies, the beach wasn't crowded but others who went up to the beach said there were some nude people down further. Also, the boats are all anchored off shore so you have to climb back into the boats but the guide always helped. We watched the dark clouds roll in as we were driving to the bay and it downpoured for about 15 minutes while we snorkeled but it didn't matter, we were all wet anyway. Plus it was cloudy most of the time so we didn't fry, it was perfect. The guide did have water to drink when we were snorkeling. After that, we went back to the dock. Our engine only stopped running once, but it was a quick fix and didn't happen again. I also think we got the slowest boat haha. But we had a great time at full throttle. Back at the dock, we got all our stuff and were able to check out our picture. We ended up buying it because it was just so cool! We had a blast and our guide ( I can't remember his name-sorry) was awesome. I would definitely recommend!
