“Didn't work for me”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 23, 2014 NEW

Voted best local food so we stopped. Tried the drunkin ribs, their claim to fame. taste was OK, meat was dry to me. My wife tried the burger special, which she enjoyed. It was OK, not worth a revisit. Service was attentive and friendly.

“Yes!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 23, 2014 NEW

We chose to try this place because the menu looked good and it was near our hotel. We started with the steamed pork buns that were so wonderful I literally forgot how to speak. They were great without the sauce, but the sauce complimented them in such a way.. Wow! We shared the Mahi Mahi with (there were many choices of sides) garlic mashed potatoes and veggies. What a meal! We couldn't pass up the holiday rum cake at the end either. Our server was just grand. So happy and funny, she had such a positive vibe. A 'cook' from the back who brought our food took such pride in each dish. He was so happy and elegant in his mannerisms. Turns out, his mother owns the place and does most of the cooking, a majority of it from scratch!! He said he feels lucky to be able to work alongside his mother and loves when his father drops by for a drink or some food. It was extremely refreshing to converse with these people while dining here. The atmosphere was very laid back and there was a live singer who was great. We will be back prior to leaving without a doubt!!! Couldn't be happier!

“Mom's in the kitchen”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 11, 2014

There is something special about a small family owned restaurant with mom doing the cooking.
The palms is that type of restaurant. It is pleasant, everyone is glad to see you and the food is very good.
Palms specializes in their "drunken ribs". Ribs soaked in jack Daniels. What could be bad?
They were tender and tasty( I took them off the plate of one of my companions). I went for a fillet after having fish for four straight nights. It was very tasty, and well prepared, if a touch over cooked. The grilled snapper was also very good and a chocolate dessert was excellent. It is priced right and makes for a pleasant dinner

“Rack 'em Up!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 10, 2014

This will be one of the easiest reviews for a restaurant. If you visit The Palms Restaurant, all you need to order are the drunken ribs. The ribs soak in a bourbon marinade for three days. They are seasoned perfectly and cooked slowly. In a word, they are D-E-L-I-C-I-O-U-S!

“Attentive Service, Nice Portions”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 9, 2014 via mobile

The Palms was within walking distance to our condo and we decided to try it. The nightly specials were prominently displayed on the board. The server was upfront about anything not included in happy hour, etc. which was appreciated, eliminating any potential problems when the bill came. My husband got the full rack of ribs and had trouble finishing everything. Service was great and our glasses were never empty. I was surprised the bill was so low as we got a lot of food for a lot less than we paid at other places.
