5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 18, 2013

M husdband and I eat here every year for breakfast. The owners & staff are the BEST!!! They work so hard and are so nice. The French Toast is my favorite. The pancakes are the best I've had. My husband loveds the Johnny Cakes!! Definitely one odd our favorite breakfast spots.!! Pretty view from up top too! Theresa Dillon

“A neat little treat”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 8, 2013

During one of my previous visits to St. Maarten, my friends and walked passed this restaurant daily. During a return visit to the island, one of the staff members in the Simpson Bay Resort suggested that we visit the restaurant and it was a pleasant surprise. The place itself is tiny (or cozy, if you will), but we had a mighty good breakfast served by a very friendly staff. We ate on the veranda, read the paper, people watched, and just enjoyed our surroundings and the pleasant company of the staff.

“Like Visiting Someone Carribean Home - Prices Great Too.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 20, 2013

Alexander’s was recommended by a bartender at the nearby Simpson Bay Resort and Marina and he did not lead us wrong. My girlfriend and I went over for dinner. The food was excellent, the service was excellent, the prices were excellent and the atmosphere is unique. The restaurant is located on the second floor above the Bon Appetite Restaurant. Patrons ascend a outside stair case that runs alongside the building and enters the restaurant through the kitchen. The dining area is a outdoor deck, overlooking the Simpson Bay Resort and the Diamond Flamingo Timeshares with glimpses of the Caribbean sea and the Simpson Bay between the buildings. Not a fancy place by any means. However, it felt like we were eating as a guest in a Caribbean home.
My girlfriend had the fried shrimp platter which came with red beans and rice and a salad. I had a slab of ribs that also included red beans and rice and a salad. We each enjoyed our entrees. The ribs were fall off the bone tender and the flavor was excellent. I skipped the red beans and rice (low carb diet) and enjoyed the salad. The portions were generous. The prices were very reasonable by not only island standards but would be reasonable in the states as well. A full rack of ribs with the red beans and rice and the salad was only $12 US. My girlfriend also had a generous slice of blueberry cheesecake which she said was also very good. We each had iced tea as a beverage with a refill. The total bill was $33.50 before the tip. Less than half of the next cheapest dinner we had on the island. Leave the credit cards at home - Alexander’s accepts only cash. Like everywhere else on the island – U.S. dollars are welcome. “Not Bad”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 16, 2013

This is a small place but the food was good and the price was cheap. We had the garlic shrimp, and order ribs and chips, both were good.

“Solid - But Not Exceptional”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 9, 2013

Our dinner at Alexander's was good, but nothing to write home about: I don't know whether we were there on an off day or 7:30pm was just too late, but they were out of a few things and our options were subsequently somewhat limited from the already-small menu. The food was fairly standard, cheeseburgers (on slices of white toast), fresh fish and shrimp, and hefty sides of rice and beans. Avoid the wine, however - or be choosy and ask for specifics (or to see the bottle).
