We happened upon Vesna Taverna during the day when I was looking for a hair salon that used to be next door. That evening (a Saturday), I looked on Trip Advisor for something different than all the French food we'd been consuming in Marigot and Grand Case. Vesna Taverna seemed to fit the bill, so we made a reservation.
We shared the Mezze Platter and got an extra skewer. It was plenty for two of us, every morsel was delicious, and the service was efficient and friendly. The Mezze Platter with the extra skewer, 4 glasses of red wine, one dessert and one coffee came to $63. Granted, we shared an entree, but it was the best value dinner we've had on the island so far.
Interior atmosphere: very casual with wood plan floors similar to a porch, and a nice fountain. (Just avoid looking out on the street since you look at nothing special.) Note: Location in Simpson Bay is across from Travel Inn and a supermarket housed in a green building, not far from McDonald's on the opposite side of the road, next to the Palapa Marina which has a good-sized sign. The top front of the Vesna Taverna building is black. The Evolution Hair Salon is next door, part of the same building.
All in all, a great evening. We plan to return later in the week for some fish and Greek salad.
