“Great location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 23, 2014

My son and I stayed there for 9 nights. We had a wonderful time. We had a room with a kitchenette and it was very clean. It had all the amenities with 6 swimming pools. It's own beach with a swim platform situated off shore and a shack on the beach for food and drinks. Within a reasonable taxi fare to the airport and Phillipsburg. Simpson Bay actually is a small town and there are restaurants, grocery stores, car rentals etc... within walking distance. We would definitely stay there again.

Good location! Nice people
Not happy with having a water bug flying around in bedroom& calling room service but it's been 30 min & no show!
I actually finally was able to kill it & hoping there won't be another 1 tonight. I had to move the baby that was sleeping out of the bed to living room while managing to capture & kill it
This room is one of the new constructed in the new building so would hate to have been in 1 of the older rooms.
Disappointed

A group of friends go on an annual trip. this year we stayed at Simpson Bay. immediately Steve my concierge made me feel welcome. He truly is an awesome guy. the rooms were very comfortable, but my ceiling caved in the bathroom. it was a water leak. but, someone was there immediately to take care of the situation, the problem was fixed in no time. the staff and guests were very pleasant. the beaches were wonderful. we rented various excursions through AquaMania, though some excursions were a bit pricey, the Tango dinner/booze cruise was great. the food, the people and staff were awesome. the resort is built on a steep hill, and you will have to do some walking, the good thing is, if you are not in perfect health, the resort will shuttle you. we booked a tour guide by the name of Bert from Bert's Reliable Taxi Service, who gave us an all day tour for a very reasonable price, he was also very knowledgeable. Bert was always a phone call away when we travelled the island. the Only place on the Resort that I wasn't pleased with was the restaurant Alexander's. the waitresses are rude and slow. We went twice and received the same terrible service and attitude. but Topper's, Lisolo's, Jimbo's,& the Greenhouse were excellent. I advise anyone to visit Jimbo's and the Greenhouse. they make great drinks strong but delicious, and the food will not disappoint.

This was my first vacation to a island and it was awesome. The service great. Everyone was so nice and friendly. Beaches are beautiful. We stayed in a newly renovated room that was great, with 360 degree views. Our room allowed us to see the planes coming in and taking off. We had ocean views and could see the cruise ships coming in. I would recommend this resort to my friends and I am going back. I think I just found my getaway. Oh did I mention that the rooms were very nice and clean. Go, you'll love it too.

Room Tip: We stayed on the top of a hill so if you can't do a lot of walking I would suggest staying in a...

Me and my partner stayed here last year and had an awesome time. In fact, we fully intend on going back and staying at the same resort. While it isn't right near the airport runway to watch the planes land, you can rent bikes from just down the road and make the 20 minute ride to watch the planes. Plus you have bikes to explore other parts of the area. I enjoyed the fact that the resort wasn't in the city center as well where all of the cruise passengers get off to explore. We also took a evening cruise from the resort that included cocktails and had an awesome time on that as well. Overall, we really had nothing bad to say about the place.

We own timeshare here and enjoyed visiting whenever we can. We were getting tired of the looks inside and the decorations and appliances were getting out of date. We were thinking of putting our unit up for sale due to long trip from California.
This time our unit was under repair and they gave us a newly renovated one. It was a pleasant surprise. The unit looks gorgeous with new furniture, decoration and new appliances.
we really enjoyed our stay. Looks like we will keep it for a while.

Room Tip: Get a room on the 2nd floor or heigher

We had a trade timeshare. The room we traded for in Simpsonbay and marina was overlooking a parking lot... We asked to change. This was possible, however we had to pay a lot extra. We had to with a 6 months old baby. We eventually had an refurbished apartment on the far end of the resort. This was nice and clean, in the contrary of the original room which was old and kind a dirty. The walk to the beach was long and exhausting, whilst being on a steep hill.

The second week we stayed here, they made promises, which they could not keep. Reservations lied to us and the manager and staff behind the desk is rude.

Stayed here a long time ago when it was still called " The pelican". That's why we would come back. However we will never stay here again!

Regarding the rest of the resort. The area is clean and the staff on the premises is nice as are the cleaning lady's. The guys in charge at the beach, however, are rude and unfriendly. Beach is clean. Pools are clean and nice.

Room Tip: Only go for the refurnished rooms!
