“First Time to St. Maartin”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 23, 2013

This was our first trip to St. Maartin. We were a tad skeptical of the area based on some reviews that we read. What we found was a beautiful island, incredible scenery, and now another destination that we cannot wait to return to. The Royal Palm was a perfect location for us on the island. Our condo was gorgeous, well appointed and had every amenity that we needed. The condo was clean, beautifully decorated and had an incredible view that we couldn't get enough of. The food in the restaurant was great. The location of the resort itself was perfect as many other restaurants, shops etc. were within walking distance. (Don't miss a trip to "Zee Bakery" for the most incredible baked goods.) There is a little beachside bar across the bay that has great food as well. I'm going to concur with what some other people have stated in that the Concierge/pool towel employees were less than enthusiastic in their greetings each day, kind of an "island" attitude. The front desk staff was extremely attentive and helpful however. A trip to Phillipsburg for shopping is a fun day. The trip to the other side is beautiful once you get out of town. A trip to the airport to see the planes land and depart is pretty fun too. All in all we can't wait to go back!

Thank you for sharing your thoughts about your stay here Royal Palm Beach Resort. We are extremely happy to hear about great of time you had here on the island and at our resort as well. Your feedback about your condo, our restaurant, and our location is much appreciated. We’re always glad to see our guests give tips for the area to share with future guests. It was a very concerning to read about the attitude and lack of friendliness shown by our concierge and pool attendants. We will make sure to address this appropriately, since we expect all of our employees, not just those from a certain area to show and portray outstanding customer service. We are very grateful for your recommendation of our resort and the area, and we hope to see you again soon!

“Wonderful Place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 23, 2013

Four of us stayed at the Royal Palm Beach Resort between 1/11/2013 and 1/18/2013. We had a two bedroom ocean view. The resort was clean and the staff VERY friendy. We rec'd a cleaning once during our week, but could ask for fresh bath towels every other day.

Beach was nice, pool on the small side but with the ocean right in front of us who can complain. Beautiful view with all the anchored boats and you could watch the larger yachts come through the channel when the bridge was opened.

Whenever we had a question they staff was very friendly and helpful. We went to breakfast and lunch a few times at the resort which was reasonably priced. We went out for dinner. A must if you like pastries is "The Taste Factory" which is great for breakfast, lunch and desserts. Very pleasant staff as well. Right across the road from resort (kitty corner)

Our favorite restaurant was IZZI Italian Pasta lounge.

Room Tip: I think all are ocean views.

“Better than expected”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 18, 2013

This was an awesome value. Had a nice sized 2 bedroom 2 bathroom condo with full kichen and living room. Nicely decorated with tile floors and granite counter tops. The location was great with a beautiful view of a nice bay area looking out into the ocean and just minutes from the airport!

Drawback was slow check-in service...island time I guess.

“Disappointing experience”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 18, 2013

Just returned from a week here with my husband and another couple. Resort itself is quite run down - balconies and trim in serious need of paint. Beach is rough, although that could be caused by very strong winds. Front desk people are friendly but not knowledgeable at all. Concierge/pool towel ladies are rude and useless. Views are beautiful and rooms are clean and adequate, but none of the clocks ever worked and decorations were pretty bad. Not returning anytime soon!

“Average Dinner”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 15, 2013

This was our least favorite dinner. The food and service was just okay. With so many good restaurants in St. Martin we probably will not got back. They had advertised Mojitos on the board outside. I had one and it was the worst I had ever tasted. The conch chowder was could and tasteless. My wife’s fish was cold. The Caesar Salad was good. The Bang Bang shrimp was the best food served.
