“Could be better”

Stayed one night at this hotel. The hotel isn't bad, but could be better. I got a good room. Only thing was that could be better lighting and also the check in staff could a be more customer friendly. the location was good nearby the airport. There is several restaurant around. That you can get something to eat

Since our flight was delayed a couple of hours we arrived after 9pm. Check in was quick and painless.....however since it was our first time here it would have been nice if we had a quick overview of the resort, and area. We asked about dining, and shopping....everything in area pretty much shut down. The rep could have been more helpful. That being said from the front the resort is quite deceiving.....looks small however, once you walk to the pool area you discover an amazing beach! Beautiful calm crystal clear water. Tranquil. We had a studio unit. Nice size, clean and seems as if appliances are somewhat new. Not much lighting, though, and sink is in separate area from stove and fridge.....we managed...no problem. We were only 'allowed' two new towels a day....not sure why.. The resort is located where you can pretty much walk to many shops and restaurants. We however rented a car, since we like to explore the whole island. Definitely a great family or couples place.

This was my husband and my first trip to St. Maarten. The Atrium was the perfect location for us! It is on the beach and walking distance to restaurants and food markets. Some great restaurants we tried: Jimbo's, Cappuccino, Topper's, and The Taste Factory (for dessert). We did not rent a car and we didn't need to! The staff was very friendly and willing to answer any of our questions--and we asked a lot. The room (studio) was all that we needed and had everything we needed when we wanted to cook/ eat-in. We also thoroughly enjoyed the Green House Restaurant located next door to the Atrium. We had a wonderful, magical time. We can't wait to return!

Room Tip: Ask for an ocean front or ocean-view room, staff is very accommodating.

We caught an earlier flight, thinking that we can start our vacation earlier. Upon arrival our room of course was not ready, due to check in at 4pm. Many other resorts/hotels have a comp room for guest that arrive early or have a late departure. This was not an option. We waited for the room for over 6 hours. Mind you that if you had a guest waiting wouldn't you get the maid to clean our room first? Well that never happened.
When we finally got our key they told us that we had a newly renovated room, not true. The room was old and not renovated at all.
They never came in to change our linens, nor made our beds. We have a family of four they never gave us four towels. We always had to call them for the 4th towel. They just brought the 4th towel
and nothing else no face cloth.
The view of this resort is deceiving, the lobby and pool are small.
Check out was at 10am they called the room at 10:05 to remind you that you needed to check out.
When we were leaving they had a comp room, which felt like a revolving door. People were going in and out, it was disgusting. The maid just came in, replaced the towels and just left, she never washed down the toilet nor the tub. I'm so happy we decided not to take in that extra St. Martin sun.
The only upside of this resort is that you have many restaurants to choose from. The are friendly and helpful, that's about it.
On another note, this area sells timeshares like crazy, be careful of a guy name Terrari, sweet guy. promises you everything but does not deliver. Don't go and see the timeshares that are offered by him. He's all talk.

Was a bit sceptical when we pulled up, but was totally unfounded. Personal very helpful & friendly.The 1bedroom suite was perfect & spotless. Conveniently located to everything. We rented a car right there for a great price for the week & they offered to drive us to the airport. We'll be back!

We are a family of 4, with 2 boys ages 10 and 8. I understand that some rooms have been renovated; however, the room we received was dated in décor, but very clean. It was well-appointed and every appliance worked. When we checked in, we were told our room had a "lagoon view".... this meant a view of the parking lot! No lagoon in sight. :( But the ocean was down a flight of stairs and around the corner. We never had to worry about finding beach chairs or umbrellas. Simpson Bay is a very calm, sheltered place to swim and snorkel. We all felt comfortable relaxing and swimming, and if you bring your own snorkel, there is a natural reef at the edge of the bay.

The restaurant next to the property offers very good food and drinks. We walked to the market, to Pineapple Pete's and Zee Best restaurants and The Carousel for ice cream. We also rented a car for 3 days as it is cheap to do so. Thankfully, my husband has a wonderful sense of direction as there are no stop lights and very few street signs to help you navigate the island. We did get to explore the French side, but were happier to spend most of our time on the Dutch side.

We booked a tour through the front desk and we did a 3-stop snorkel excursion. We had a lovely day on the water and a wonderful lunch included.

Definitely check out Maho Beach and the Sunset Beach Bar and Grill. Good snorkeling and the airport atmosphere is unbelievable!!

We were there for a week. Arrived on Saturday morning and were checked in to room 805 which I see the reviewer LOVED! As we arrived at 11am our room was not ready but the paperwork was done and processed, we were told our request for a beach front room was sorted and we were going to LOVE room 805 which we were given as it was an awesome room. Our bags were stored and we were told to come back at 2pm as it should be ready by then.

We had a car from Starlite Car Rentals who are located in the Belair Hotel and were fantastic and I highly recommend, so we set out for a couple hours and came back at 2 to get our room keys. The lady that checked us in said your room is ready and was sorting out our keys when the other lady working said 805 is not for them. The lady that checked us in said yes it is here is all the paperwork. There was some discussion and disagreement between the 2 but our lady lost the battle as the supervisor over ruled her and we were told by the 2nd lady that we were no longer in 805 as there was a wedding party and rooms were re-assigned and we were moved to 604 and that was that!

Now don't get me wrong 604 was a lovely room. Yes we could see the beach from our room but it was not beachfront as 805 was. We had a small issue with the safe which they fixed and the bathroom door was not closing properly. The door seemed to be swollen and they shaved it down a bit so it was not as hard to close. It was not a huge deal to us.

The wifi is my biggest complaint! It works best in the reception and even though a wifi station was not far from our room front door it was still iffy to say the least. When it did work in the room it was slug slow like dial up. It would appear that they are not equipped to handle the amount of guests that they have. It seemed to work best in the wee hours of the morning and I did hear a few other guests complaining about the wifi.

There was only one elevator working while we were there as they were waiting on a part for the other one so at times it was frustrating waiting on that, but mostly it was just fine.

The room was well equipped the fridge, stove, toaster, microwave, blender all looked brand new. Plates, utensils etc were all clean and ready to use. The bed was comfortable and huge. There is plenty space for hanging and folding clothes. There was a full ironing board and iron as well as in the room. The bathroom has lots of storage as well...3 drawers on either side of the sink and it has a wall attached hairdryer.

TV was a good size flat screen and there are quite a few channels.

The housekeeping staff were LOVELY and pleasant and did a great job.

The atrium is located within walking distance to the Market Garden where we got our groceries. They offer discounts for shopping before 8pm and also I think if you order before you arrive. IN the plaza with the Market Garden was also a Burger King for the quick and easy breakfast if you did not want to cook.

The atrium is really central to many things. You can walk to Jimbo's (fabulous drinks, good food and FAST wifi), Toppers (next door from the beach side but a 7 min walk from the road)...Thursday steak and lobster special is AWESOME, Lee's Roadside Grill (walking distance) was lovely as well. Loved the Yacht Club Breakfast as well. There are so many other places that were within walking distance if you did not have a car.

On checkout (10am) on a Saturday we had been informed via email that there would be a hospitality room for us to shower in before we left for our flight at 4:30pm and there was a sign saying there was a room but we were told sorry we are full and no rooms and even though we said we had it in writing and were told the same thing on arrival AND there sign on the desk had it as well they told us sorry no hospitality room. Luckily there was a gym with a bathrooom so they said we could use that and they would give us towels. We also took a fresh soap from the bathroom with us as with us from our room as we were not sure if there would be any in the hospitality room! Good thing as the gym has nothing of the sort.

I would stay again as the rooms are clean, spacious and well equipped and the location is wonderful and the beach PERFECT and most of the staff are LOVELY. However, I would not travel on a Saturday as it is their busiest day and I now know not to expect great wifi!
