“Fun, great food, good prices”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 16, 2009

We always go to Skipjacks when on Sint Marteen. The seafood is consistently fresh and well prepared. My favorites are the tuna carpaccio, the grouper, and for a special treat- the baked caribbean lobster is to die for. We enjoy the view of looking out at the mega yachts, and the staff is always friendly.

“Nothing Special”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 15, 2009

I went to this place based on a recommendation in a Frommer's guide. In fact, I ordered the steamed shrimp (as did the reviewer). He described it as "hot, piled high...the best.." Mine was a basket of cold shrimp (like a cocktail) with a little plastic cup of supermarket-grade seafood sauce.

The view was of some boats jammed together.

Further, that area of town is pretty ugly.

I would Skip Jack's.

“Great place for dinner!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 12, 2009

This was our favorite restaurant during our visit. We had a great server who was efficient, remembered our order, and was very pleasant. The food was nicely plated, was very tasty, and we would highly recommend it.

“Average”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 28, 2008

We ate here December 2008 for an early dinner. There are not many places open in Simpson Bay before 6PM. The bar/restaurant was nearly empty. There are tanks to choose lobsters--carribean or Maine.

We ordered a grouper dish, an appetizer portion of calamari, and a children's penne. The grouper was pan fried with breadcrumbs, side of rice, salad. Best part of that meal was the salad dressing, grouper was OK. Calamari was fried well, but there was nothing special about it. It just came with a dish of marinara, no hot peppers. The penne was good and garlicky, with plenty of parmesan cheese, even if it was just the powdered stuff. We also had 2 really weak pina coladas. Overall the meal was fine, nothing spectacular. Service was good. View from the restaurant was very nice overlooking the yaghts. I am sure the crowd improves later in the evening.
